Cathryn spluttered, “Drake used me like a pawn. I just want him to pay for it. Compared to the humiliation he put me through, 20 billion dollars is nothing. It can’t even restore my dignity.”

“Dignity is something you give yourself,” Debra retorted. “Drake gave you choices. You were blinded by greed.”

“Shut up!” Cathryn snarled. “Don’t act all high and mighty with me. You think you’re so pure? If you were, why did you throw yourself at Marion? At your engagement party, Erica protected you. Randy stood by you. Andrew had your back. You have Michael and Oscar supporting the McKinney Group for you. Even Juan can’t forget you. With all these people loving you, why did you have to steal Marion?”

Debra hadn’t realized Cathryn harbored so much resentment. She let out a cold laugh. “Everything I have, I earned with my blood, sweat, and tears. Do you think Marion would love you if you were in my place? Would Erica and Randy protect you? Would Andrew have your back? Do you even know why Michael and Oscar support the McKinney Group for me?”

She paused, her voice dripping with disdain. “It’s not because I’m pretty or because I’m the daughter of the Frazier family. There are plenty of beautiful women out there, and you’re the Bernard family’s only daughter. You should know that what I have isn’t just because of these titles.”

Debra glanced at Liza and said, “I would never hold a knife to a friend who truly cares for me. I wouldn’t scheme against those who are genuinely good to me. Marion loves me because I have the guts to fight for what I want. Randy protects me because he knows I won’t let Marion down. Erica has my back because I’m true to her, and she’s true to me.
