Chapter 981

โ€œThe waters in Seamar City run too deep. I donโ€™t want her to know too much,โ€ Juan replied, kicking the sack toward Garland. โ€œLoad him up. Iโ€™ll meet you upstairs.โ€

โ€œHey, youโ€™re seriously dumping this on me?โ€ Garland growled, glancing at the motionless Edgar inside the sack. His face was pale from blood loss. Of all the people he couldโ€™ve kidnapped, it had to be two of his most cherished women. Edgar brought this on himself.

Drake and Kale finally arrived at the factory, only to find the place deserted. Drake scanned the place and asked, โ€œYouโ€™re sure this is the place?โ€

โ€œYes, boss,โ€ Kale replied firmly. โ€œThe team tracked the signal from the phone call. It came from here.โ€

Drake glanced at his watch. Two hours had already passed since theyโ€™d set out. Maybe it was all over. His jaw tightened as frustration flashed in his eyes. โ€œDamn Edgar! Canโ€™t even hold out long enough to make it worthwhile.โ€

The next morning, at the Eaton Mansion.

โ€œDebra left? How could she just leave?โ€ Lizaโ€™s voice was laced with urgency as she fired off her questions. โ€œWhen did she go? Is she already on the plane?โ€

The maid nodded hesitantly. โ€œShe left a little while ago.โ€

โ€œShe canโ€™t just leave! I told her last night that I owed her a favor. If sheโ€™s gone, how am I supposed to repay it?โ€ Liza stamped her foot. โ€œNo way. Go bring her back.โ€

The maid pointed at herself incredulously. โ€œMe?โ€

Liza huffed and brushed past her, rushing downstairs, where she spotted someone moving suspiciously at the door. Her brow furrowed. โ€œGarland? What are you doing?โ€

Garland froze mid-step, his plan to sneak out falling apart. Liza stepped closer, her suspicion growing. She glanced at the suitcase he was holding. โ€œAre you leaving for a trip?โ€

โ€œYeah, something came up. Gotta head out for a bit,โ€ he stammered.

โ€œIf itโ€™s work,โ€ Liza narrowed her eyes, โ€œwhy are you wearing sunglasses and a hat?โ€ With that, she snatched his gear and held it behind her back.

โ€œYouโ€™re sneaking out, arenโ€™t you?โ€

โ€œOf course not. Dad knows Iโ€™m leaving.โ€

โ€œWhere are you going?โ€

โ€œSeamar City.โ€

As soon as the words left his mouth, he regretted it, but it was too late to take them back.

โ€œSeamar City? Can I come with you?โ€

โ€œWhat? No. Why would you go?โ€

โ€œWhy not? I could use a vacation.โ€ Liza grabbed his arm and pleaded, โ€œTake me with you. Pretty please?โ€

โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ll take you with me,โ€ Garland said. โ€œBut if you get shipped back like last time, I can help you. Iโ€™m no match for Marion.โ€

โ€œDeal. Iโ€™ll behave,โ€ Liza beamed, eagerly following Garland and even helping him with his luggage.

Garland watched Liza happily skipping ahead, a smile playing on his lips. He knew that if heโ€™d snuck out alone, Bert would break his legs.
