Lina Sweeney went home, still confused. Had she and Hadwin Stephenson just begun a relationship? She'd considered many revenge scenarios he might enact, but this wasn't one of them!

She lacked dating experience and decided to follow his lead. If that failed, she had plenty of romantic dramas for guidance. The problem, however, was that he wanted her to fall in love with him.

Fall in love, then be dumped? Lina scratched her head helplessly. If that didn't work, she could pretend to fall in love after a few months, then feign heartbreak upon his rejection. Would that end this?

She sighed heavily. Who knew her first relationship would begin this way? It was far better, though, than her imagined revenge scenarios—the destruction of her family, for instance.

This proved, she thought, that one shouldn't take advantage of men, especially not run away afterward. She was getting her comeuppance!

Lina rolled her eyes. Had she sold herself to save her family?

"It's not good having such a poor sense of time," Mrs. Sweeney said. "I've made you a blind date appointment with Director Wang next week."

Lina nearly choked. She'd just started dating Hadwin Stephenson, and her mother wanted her to go on a blind date?

Director Wang was known throughout the community as a successful matchmaker. Her mother frequently socialized with her, hoping she could find Lina a suitable partner.

"Mom… Can I find a boyfriend myself? I promise to find one you'll like," Lina said. She had no intention, of course, of telling her parents about Hadwin.

This relationship was temporary; she'd "break up" with him soon. There was no need to tell her family and risk their disappointment.

"You've said that many times. Do you realize you're almost twenty-eight? If you don't find a boyfriend now, are you going to wait until you're thirty and become a 'leftover woman'?" Mrs. Sweeney snapped.

Lina pursed her lips. Many people married in their thirties. Being a "leftover woman" didn't mean settling. If she married, it would be someone she liked and found attractive.

Unexpectedly, Hadwin Stephenson's face popped into her mind.

Bah! She shook the image away. "I'm tired!" she told her parents, hurrying to her room.

There, she received a text: "This is Hadwin Stephenson. Please save my number for easy contact."

Lina sighed helplessly, saving the unfamiliar number. One step at a time.

Meanwhile, Grace continued her job search, consistently rejected at the final stage due to her criminal record.
