Chapter 367

The elevator arrived shortly. However, the occupants were Lina Sweeney's neighbors. Upon seeing Lina, they greeted her enthusiastically. "Lina, you're back! This must be your boyfriend," one neighbor said, gazing at Hadwin Stephenson.

Lina hesitated. Before she could respond, Hadwin spoke, "Yes, I'm Lina's boyfriend."

"Hehe, I think I'll be at your wedding soon!" the neighbor laughed, then added urgently, "Lina, your mother has been waiting all day to meet him!"

Lina felt awkward. She now understood why her neighbor knew about Hadwin: her mother had already told everyone.

Entering the elevator, Lina looked at Hadwin, who returned her gaze with a half-smile. She blushed uncontrollably. Hesitantly, she whispered, "Um My parents might be a little worried, as I've never had a boyfriend before. Just do your best with them, okay? I'll find an excuse to get you out later."

"What? You've never had a boyfriend before?" He raised an eyebrow, leaning closer. His deep black eyes fixed on hers.

Lina's heart pounded. As someone who appreciated good looks, she was easily flustered by attractive faces like his.

"Haha I've been busy with work," she stammered.

"Really? I thought you'd say you couldn't forget me. That would have made me happier," he replied.

She nearly choked. Could not forget him? Really?

Well, she'd just consider the past a dream.

Ding!

The elevator reached their floor. As they exited, Lina walked toward her apartment, fumbling for her keys.

Opening the door, she was almost blinded. Her father wore his best suitโ€”the one he only wore for photosโ€”and her mother was dressed in a new outfit, complete with makeup and a professionally styled hairstyle (she recognized the work of the salon owner in their building).

Lina suspected every middle-aged woman in the building knew she was bringing home a boyfriend. The salon owner was notorious for gossip; if she knew something, the whole building knew.

Lina looked at her parents awkwardly. They were staring at Hadwin with curious expressions, while he remained unfazed.

"Dad, Mom, this is Hadwin Stephenson, my um boyfriend," she said, the word seeming to require immense effort.

"Uncle, Aunty, hello. I am Hadwin Stephenson," Hadwin greeted Mr. and Mrs. Sweeney respectfully.
