Chapter 404
She didn't want the small restaurant Kyla worked so hard to run to be disrupted by these people. Perhaps it was her resurgent sense of justiceโafter all, hadn't she become a lawyer hoping to uphold it?
When she finished speaking, the men's faces turned ghastly. One of them looked around apprehensively. Just as Grace was about to leave, one grabbed her arm, trying to stop her.
He pulled so hard that Grace dropped her phone. Someone saw its recording interface and cried, "She's recording, Boss!"
"F*ck! How dare you?" Enraged, one man raised his hand to hit Grace, forgetting the cast's fans were present. A collective gasp arose. Grace subconsciously raised her hand to block the blow, but instead of pain, she felt a hand on her shoulder, pulling her into a cool embrace.
Opening her eyes, she saw a handsome, sharp-featured man. His usually indifferent expression was now angry.
"What's going on?" Brian's voice was icy as he seized the man's hand.
The man broke into a cold sweat. His hand felt as if it might break, but more frightening than the pain was the man before himโthe crown prince of the entertainment industry! Could it beโฆhe was helping the delivery girl?
The others quickly interjected, "She's just a delivery girl, Master Hart. There was a bug in her food. We just panickedโฆ it's no big deal." They wanted to end it quickly.
Brian, however, looked at Grace and asked, "Are you alright?" A rare tenderness tinged his voice.
Grace shook her head. "I'm fine, thank you." Without Brian, she would have been injured.
She looked down at her fallen phone, but Brian picked it up first. "Is this yours?"
"Yes," she replied, taking it and checking it. Luckily, it wasn't broken.
The crew stared, shocked. Since when did Master Hart pick up things from the ground? Shouldn't someone else have done that?
