Chapter 91

Jason ended the call and said to Terrence, "Finish the meeting for me, and give me the conference minutes tomorrow."

"What about you, Mr. Reed?"

"Grace woke up and asked where I'd gone. I'm going back now," Jason replied. "The meeting's main points are covered. Only minor details remain."

He left the room. Several senior overseas executives, witnessing their boss's departure, immediately began discussing the incident. Terrence faced a barrage of questions:

"Secretary Klein, what's going on?" "Why did Mr. Reed leave?" "Who called him?" "Mr. Reed's expressionโ€ฆ he must be in love!"

This romantic speculation was typical of the overseas executives. No one in the local office would dare make such a statement.

Terrence could only smile awkwardly. "Let's continue the meeting." Love? He'd considered the possibility, but he wouldn't voice such thoughts. His boss was private and guarded.

For a while, Terrence felt uncertain. Like the overseas executives, he found Jason's behavior unexpected. They didn't know the half of it; he alone understood the extent of Mr. Reed's accommodations for this young woman.

If Mr. Reed actually fell in love with Grace, the news would likely shock the entire city!

In the rental apartment, Grace looked at Jason, who had just entered. "It's late," she said, confused. "Where were you? I woke up and worried when I didn't see you." She'd feared an accident.

"I couldn't sleep, so I went for a walk," Jason said. He gently lifted Grace from the bed and settled her back down. "Go back to sleep, sis. I won't leave again."

"Leave a note next time you go for a walk while I'm sleeping," she said.

"Okay," he chuckled. "By the way, I have something to do tomorrow night."

"Work?" she asked.

"Sort of," he replied, "but it's not important. I can skip it."

"You don't have to. I'm fine staying home alone. I haven't hurt as much these past two days, and I can move around more easily."

He smirked. "It's only been a day, Grace. You need to rest."

"You're overreacting. I feel much better. You don't need to keep carrying me around."

"I'll be back early tomorrow," he said, effectively dismissing her objections.

The next day, Jason prepared dinner for Grace before leaving. He told her not to wait up and to go to bed if she felt tired.

Leaving the rental apartment, he went to the house next door, where Terrence waited.

Terrence had already laid out his own clothes.

Jason changed into a suit and combed his hair back. His features sharpened, his ice-cold eyes, beautiful yet chilling, particularly striking.
