Chapter 21
Nash smiled. “I’m just showing you respect, lest you have to defend yourself against me tonight.”
Hera blushed and whined, “Actually, we can share a bed, but… you can’t touch me!”
She wasn’t ready for intimacy.
“I can’t touch you while we sleep together? Are you trying to kill me?”
Nash shoved his hands in his pockets and walked into the next room. Hera stood stunned, then stomped her foot. “Just what is going on in your mind?!”
Nash re-entered, moving to close the door. Smiling, he replied, “I’m a man, so, naturally, I think about what men usually do!”
Just as the door was about to close, Hera wedged her foot in the doorway. “Have you never been in a relationship?”
Nash was puzzled. “Why do you ask?”
Hera took a deep breath. “Have you… have you never considered showing a little initiative?”
“What do you mean?”
“It’s just… Don’t you intend to ask for my contact information or something?”
“That’s right. Give me your number!” Nash nodded and smiled.
“Hmph, no!” Hera withdrew her foot, turned, and went into her room.
Nash stared for a moment, then closed the door with a bored expression. Lying on the bed, he found Theo’s number and called.
At that moment, on the top floor of a ninety-nine-story building in Capiton, dozens of elegantly dressed men, women, and children enjoyed an open-air dinner party. Lucas Skye, wine glass in hand, said, “Skye Corporation’s net profit this month has exceeded one billion. I hope everyone…”
“Hey… Nash…
“Ah… Alright, alright…
“Don’t worry, leave it to me…
“Wait… You… What did you just say? Get a 7nm lithography machine?
“Nash, I can’t manage that. It’s not something that can be solved with money…”
Theo answered the call, recoiling slightly as everyone looked at him.
Lucas scolded angrily, “You bastard, how many times have I told you to turn off your phone when I’m speaking…”
Theo muted the call, saying with a mournful expression, “Nash is looking for me. I dare not ignore him…”
Hearing it was Nash, Lucas’s heart jumped. He set down his wine glass and asked with a smile, “What does Nash want?”
“He wants a 7nm lithography machine!”
“That’s… that’s not impossible!” After a pause, Lucas continued, “I have an old friend who’s resourceful. Getting a 7nm lithography machine might not be difficult for him!”
“Then… should I agree to Nash’s request?” Theo asked.
“Yes. What he’s done for us is worth far more than a lithography machine!” Lucas smiled.
Years earlier, he’d returned from abroad with a crucial product sample. The dark web had dispatched sixteen powerful hitmen—among the top fifty assassins—to kill him and steal the sample. Nash, using his own strength, had protected him; all sixteen assassins fell, while Nash suffered only minor injuries. His power rivaled that of the top ten hitmen. The Skyes had offered one billion to hire Fred then. Nash had refused the money, asking instead for help investigating his background.
After receiving his father’s response, Theo quickly told Nash, “Nash, my dad said he’ll help you…
“A favor?
“Oh, Nash, you’re kidding. What do you mean by fav–mmph…”
Before Theo finished, Lucas stepped forward, covering his mouth. He glared at Theo, then took the phone, saying with a smile, “Mr. Calcraft, I’ll use all my connections to get this 7nm lithography machine. Consider this a favor!”
