Chapter 68

Hera couldn't suppress her laughter. "Should I help you get his number?"

Skadi blushed. "If you can get his number, I'll be your humble servant..."

Hera glanced at the masked man. Coincidentally, he was looking in their direction. His chilling gaze made her heart skip a beat. Hera gulped. "No... he's so intimidating..."

Skadi shook Hera's arm. "Come on, Rara, help me—"

Hera stared at Skadi as if she were an alien. This woman, constantly talking about murder and mayhem, lacked the nerve to ask for a phone number. Worse, she was even acting cute for her. They had been best friends since college, Skadi protecting her since graduation. This was Skadi's first favor request, and Hera would do anything for her best friend.

Hera took several deep breaths. As the group approached, she extended her arm to stop the masked man. A jet-black gun muzzle appeared at her head.

"Stellar, mind your manners!" The warden immediately rebuked him. Nash's inaction indicated no immediate danger; pointing a gun at civilians was unseemly. Stellar, realizing this, stepped aside. However, Hera had already paled with fright, Skadi nearly fainting.

Who were these people? Why did they have guns? She gave her grandfather an inquiring look. Skadi, seeing her grandfather's glare, realized she might be in trouble.

Nash glanced at Hera. He had no idea what this foolish woman wanted! "Well... uh... could I get your number?"

Hera's mind went blank. Her voice trembled; cold sweat coated her back. Even sacrificing her life would be worth her best friend's happiness.

Grant frowned. "Whose daughter are you? Do you know who you're talking to? Aren't you going to back off?" Zakariah winked repeatedly, but Hera ignored him. The warden glared at Grant, who, chilled, quickly shut his mouth.

Hera's trembling intensified, more agonizing than slapping the richest man. Nash glanced at her, teasingly asking, "What's the matter? Got a crush on me?"

His voice, altered by the mask, sounded dull and robotic, unrecognizable even to his master, let alone Hera. Of course, his master had many forms of power and didn't need to hear his voice for recognition.

Hera unlocked her phone and handed it to Nash. He saw his own photo on the screen. Turning to Skadi, he saw her intense gaze. She blushed and quickly lowered her head. So, Hera was asking for his number on Skadi's behalf.

Nash mumbled, "Idiot!" Then, he strode toward the estate's front door. The warden gave Hera an odd half-smile before hurrying after Nash.

Zakariah, finally beside Hera, whispered harshly, "Girl, did you have guts for breakfast? Do you know who they are?"
