Chapter 74
Stellar retrieved his wallet and produced an old, cherished hundred-dollar bill. He pressed it into Nash's hands. "You get a hundred dollars. Nothing more!"
Nash promptly pocketed the bill and strode toward the warden. A slight smile curved Stellar's lips. "Insatiable villain…"
The Smiling Grim Reaper had completed seventy-two assassination missions, each rewarding him with one hundred million dollars. His earnings totaled several billion dollars, yet he had still accepted a hundred from Stellar.
The Lee family cleaned the scene of the assassination. Then, birthday gifts arrived from various families, and the banquet proceeded smoothly. Heads of the five most powerful families shared tables with the warden, while Nash and Stellar remained on the sidelines.
Walter suggested, "Warden, Mr. Lee, I believe the Smiling Grim Reaper should join us. This banquet wouldn't be happening without him!"
Everyone agreed. Mr. Lee, already aware of the events, beckoned Nash. "Young man… Come sit with us!"
Nash remained motionless, eyes closed. The warden chuckled, "You're injured. Come and rest!" Nash stayed still. He'd accepted payment, becoming a bodyguard; a rule he strictly followed.
Realizing Nash's unwavering adherence to his principles, even defying the warden, Walter hastily offered a toast to deflect attention and conceal his embarrassment.
The warden sighed, "He has a unique identity and principles he upholds. Let's not pressure him." The family heads chuckled and raised toasts to Mr. Lee and the warden.
Suddenly, a patrol officer approached Henderson, whispering, "Chief, three helicopters are approaching…"
Henderson's smile vanished, replaced by a frown. "Where are they from?"
"I believe… they're private helicopters belonging to the Skyes of Capiton!"
Henderson's surprise was evident. "Ignore them!"
The Skyes' vast global business interests and presence within the General Administration Office suggested it was likely a birthday visit from Mr. Lee's former associates.
Soon, the helicopters landed nearby. A group of men, led by a tall, handsome young man in a tailcoat—almost an international superstar—approached. He carried a bouquet.
"Greetings, Warden. I am Theo Skye of the Skye family from Capiton!" Theo bowed. The other Skyes followed suit.
The warden smiled. "We're all friends here, no need for formalities!"
Theo presented the bouquet to Mr. Lee. "Happy birthday, Grandpa!" Mr. Lee accepted it, drool escaping his mouth. Joseph quickly wiped it away.
Theo winked at Nash, who acknowledged with a nod before closing his eyes again.
Walter, trembling with excitement, immediately offered Theo a seat. Theo was the future head of the Skyes, whose empire dwarfed even the combined power of the five families.
