Chapter 87

Several underlings carrying baseball bats approached the construction site bosses. Upon hearing screams from the private room, Crow danced with excitement, hugging two hostesses.

"Crow… Those two women have woken up!" a thin, injured underling exclaimed, half his face swollen and bloodied.

Crow frowned. "Did you touch them?"

The underling whimpered, "Those two women are so beautiful. I couldn't resist…"

"Damn it!" Crow kicked the underling three meters away. "I haven't even touched them yet, and you dare act first? Do you not respect me?"

"Boss, I… I was beaten before I could even touch them…" the youth protested.

"Wait until I'm done," Crow sneered. "Tonight, they'll suffer!" He then entered the elevator with the hostesses, pressing the button for the basement's third floor.

The third floor was a dimly lit warehouse, filled with smoke, gambling tables, and roughly twenty people playing poker and roulette.

In a small, corner room, Hera hugged her knees, murmuring, "It's all my fault, Skadi. I shouldn't have invited you shopping!"

Skadi held Hera's hand. "Rara, don't blame yourself. We were targeted. Even without the shopping trip, this would've happened." She then added, "Truthfully, it's my fault. After the assassin, I should've been more vigilant…"

Hera sighed, "If only Nash were here…"

Skadi grumbled, "That guy doesn't care about you! He promised to protect you, but he's off fooling around. Men are all the same…"

They still didn't know who kidnapped them. They'd been tranquilized, and while Skadi had regained some strength, her power was only a third of normal.

Hera said guiltily, "It must be because of what I said. He wants to prove himself, so he went out to earn money…"

Skadi asked, "What did you say?"

"Nash asked if I really liked money… He probably thinks I'm materialistic!" Hera sighed.

Skadi scoffed. "Isn't that obvious? Who doesn't like money? Walter's worth billions and still works. Why'd he even ask such a stupid question…"

Hera continued, "He said he didn't like money… I asked if that was his excuse…"

Skadi chuckled. "How did he respond?"

"He said earning money was easy, he could start with 100 million. I asked if he knew what 100 million meant, then he stopped talking. He must've been hurt! I asked him to accompany me to Mr. Lee's banquet, to meet influential people. I guess he thought I wanted him to curry favor… That's why he got angry and didn't go!"

Hera regretted her words.

Skadi said, "What you said was fine. Nash is skilled, but martial arts don't pay the bills. Even Iron Kick George Yancy and Eight Trigram Palm Janson Gyane submit to the Watsons' wealth! Besides, he's a grown man, why be so petty?" She added angrily, "When we get out, I'll teach him a lesson…"

The heavy iron door opened. Crow entered, unbuckling his belt. "Don't even think about leaving. Let me enjoy myself first…"
