Chapter 89
Skadi fought relentlessly, landing punch after punch on Crow's chest. Crow erupted in laughter. "Keep struggling," he said. "The more you struggle, the more excited I get…" He threw her onto the bed and immediately pounced. Skadi kicked, but he seized her ankle. Its softness only fueled his excitement. Just as he was about to continue, insistent knocks rattled the door.
Crow's face hardened. He turned his head. "Can't you people see I'm busy?"
"B-Boss… Salvatore and his men have surrounded Causeway Bay…" the tattooed youth outside stammered anxiously.
Crow furrowed his brow. "How many?"
"M-Maybe… over a hundred!"
"A hundred? Has that fool Salvatore lost his mind?"
Crow released Skadi's ankle, turned, and strode out. "Tell the brothers to assemble, armed!"
Jonford boasted five elite business tycoons and four major underground forces. Five years prior, only three major forces existed. Then, Salvatore Smith, gathering rough men from the mountains, established a freight company. Within five years, it monopolized Jonford's freight market. The other three forces could have eliminated Salvatore, but he played by the rules. He paid them handsomely and confined himself to freight. Believing him ambitionless, they largely ignored him. Today, however, Salvatore dared to challenge the Green Bamboo Association. Crow intended to discover the source of Salvatore's audacity.
On the streets of Causeway Bay, over a hundred Green Bamboo Association members assembled, armed with baseball bats, golf clubs, or arm strengtheners—bladed weapons being strictly controlled. Salvatore and his men approached from the shadows. The dense crowd unnerved the Green Bamboo members; such a spectacle was rare in these peaceful times. Crow, a cigarette dangling from his lips, regarded them with disdain. The Green Bamboo Association's authority was not something Salvatore could challenge. Even the other two major forces hesitated to provoke them, given their eighteen nationwide branches.
A purple, license-less Koenigsegg sat parked at the roadside. Its interior remained unseen, but its occupants could observe the unfolding scene.
Chapter 101
"Mr. Skye, the Green Bamboo Association has firearms; Salvatore's men are poorly equipped. Should I summon my men as well?" A burly man in his thirties murmured from the driver's seat. He was Xeno Hun, second-in-command of the Dragon Tiger Gate, one of Jonford's four major underground forces.
Theo nodded slightly. "Yes. Tonight, we eradicate the Green Bamboo Association!"
Xeno immediately reached for his phone. Nash interrupted, "No need. Our goal is rescue, not combat!"
Xeno glanced at Theo through the rearview mirror.
Theo said, "Follow Nash's orders. Even when I'm absent from Jonford, his word is law."
Xeno nodded. "Understood, Mr. Skye!"
Theo smiled at Nash. "Nashy, my family's influence makes my presence here inadvisable…"
