Chapter 108

Trevon leaned close to Selina's car, his lips slightly parted as he breathed warmly, "So, did I ace my first interview, honey?"

Selina playfully flicked Trevon's nose. "I knew it when I saw no wounds on you. Well done, truly worthy of being my husband."

As Selina got into the car, Manuel and Caleb spotted her. Even with the car window down, they could see the sweet interaction between Selina and Trevon. Trevon, noticing them, whispered something to Selina.

The corners of Selina's mouth curved into a smile. "Don't bother with them, honey. Tonight is bound to be a sleepless night for them." The more miserable they were, the happier the Harvey family would be; a good night's sleep was in store for Selina. The car window closed, and the Maybach drove off.

Caleb was amazed. "Every time I see Trevon and Selina together, I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming… And where did she find someone like Lydia who can hit people without leaving a mark, yet make it hurt like hell? She's like a devil!"

Manuel was reminded of Selina's claim to be "Angel," and his emotions churned. Seeing Manuel's troubled expression, Caleb pressed, "Manuel, was something going on at the seaside bar earlier with you and Selina? Your face looks… off, and you mentioned wanting to leave."

"Nothing happened!" Manuel replied with a low growl before walking away.

"Impossible!" Caleb thought. "It had to be a lie Selina spread to get back at Manuel. She couldn't possibly be Angel! She wasn't worthy of that title!" He swallowed nervously. "This guy… he says nothing's wrong, but he looks like he's just survived a disaster. He didn't get on his knees for Selina over the Angel business, did he?"

The next day, Selina had breakfast with Trevon before sending him to work. Then, she sped to the airport in her Lamborghini. Malcolm was waiting to board his flight.

"Hey, Selina," he greeted her with a wave.

"Malcolm, where's Lydia? I texted her and got no reply."

"She probably drank too much at the bar last night. That heartless girl—forget about her. I'm content knowing Selina is here to see me off."

Selina looked bewildered.

"Malcolm, you're leaving us. You've got to take care of yourself back in Sokovis and don't let anyone make you feel small again. If anything comes up, call me, especially if Trevon gives you any trouble. I'll be the first to fly back to Sokovis and knock some sense into him."

"Okay!" In a deep hug, Selina gave Malcolm her well-wishes, her eyes closed in satisfaction. "I'm so blessed to have met you in this lifetime."

Malcolm affectionately stroked Selina's hair. "And I am too, Selina. No stardust shines brighter than you."

After seeing Malcolm off, Selina planned to return to Brilliance to deal with copyright issues for Shackled Hearts and finalize her leave procedures. Afterward, she would work with Brilliance on a limited edition as Angel. Selina believed in seeing things through. She wouldn't use her status as Trevon's wife to skip out without resolving matters.

"Why do I feel like I'm selling myself out to help Trevon make money?" Selina mused, half-joking. Suddenly, she felt the urge to reveal her true identity and demand a reward from Trevon.

Just as Selina was about to leave, she bumped into two figures, chatting and laughing.

"Is that you?!"

Sara's smile froze. She hadn't expected to see Selina.

Selina glanced at Sara and the plump middle-aged woman beside her, dressed in designer brands and clutching a Louis Vuitton bag. Selina quickly recognized her: Cora Clark, Timothy's mother. She remembered the torment Cora had inflicted in her past life.

"Who's she?" Cora didn't recognize Selina at first. She simply felt annoyed by Selina's attractiveness and charm. Though Ashley might be less striking, she was a true blue-blooded lady, born into wealth and elegance—far superior to Selina, in Cora's opinion.

"That's her?!" Cora's eyes sharpened. She stared fiercely at Selina. No wonder she disliked Selina instantly—she was the scapegrace!

Selina smiled unconcernedly and started to walk away. There would be plenty of time to deal with Cora later. She was willing to let some people off the hook, but life had other plans. Cora raised her hand to slap Selina.

The slap came unexpectedly, but Selina swiftly caught Cora's wrist, twisting it hard. A crisp sound echoed as Cora yelped in pain. "Ah! You dare… you dare to lay a hand on me!"

Selina chuckled, twisting Cora's wrist again. Cora's face turned crimson with pain. Concerned about her dignity, she dared not scream loudly, but the scene had attracted attention. Sara, using her medical knowledge, quickly reset Cora's wrist.

Supported by Sara, Cora gritted her teeth. "You dare attack me! Call the cops! Have this woman arrested!"

Sara hesitated. Selina was her flesh and blood. Calling the police would disgrace the Harvey family. Selina spoke calmly, "Go ahead, call the cops. There's plenty of surveillance here. Everyone knows who threw the first punch. We'll see who ends up in trouble."

Buoyed by righteous indignation, Cora declared, "I am your elder. You've made so many mistakes, betrayed the Harvey family, and personally sent your brother to jail. I was just trying to correct a woman who hasn't been raised properly and has no boundaries!"

Selina looked around, arms crossed. "It's fine, keep barking. The louder, the better. In the end, it's the Harvey family and your friend, Sara, who'll be red-faced."
