Chapter 117

"I really wanted a serious talk with you! Now that you know I'm Angel, I bet you're scared. I'd love to turn on the video to see your expression, but alas… I despise your overdone makeup!" Madelyn's heart skipped a beat, ignoring Selina's mockery. She frantically signaled Christina.

"You're with Christina, right? You two are birds of a feather—both love heavy makeup, that nauseating perfume, and stirring up trouble. True sisters indeed. Everjoy Entertainment, right? You used that firm to buy trending tweets, didn't you?"

Christina hadn't expected Selina to know that. She glared at Madelyn, thinking, This idiotic cousin! I assured her our marketing was flawless! Now, thanks to Madelyn, she was doomed. Christina remained silent, frantically searching for a solution.

Madelyn's voice trembled. "Selina… you… did Trevon figure this out?"

"Idiot!" Christina blurted, revealing Madelyn's complicity. Perhaps Selina was merely testing the waters, but now it was over. Realizing her mistake, Madelyn was about to speak when Selina chuckled. "Don't panic, Christina. If I called, it means I have solid evidence. You fools thought you could fool everyone. I'm underestimated, am I not?"

Madelyn had no choice. "What do you want, Selina?"

"I ignored your antics before, treating them as a clown show. But this time, you went too far. For my husband's sake, I won't make you disappear or imprison you, but get out of Sokovis and never return! I never want to see your faces again!"

"Leave Sokovis? Are you kidding?" They thought, We're the golden daughters of the Hudson family; how can she dictate like this? She has no right!

"Not leaving? Fine. I'll tell my husband everything, and you should know what he'll do."

"Selina, even if we were wrong, Trevon's our cousin. The Hudson family supports him. You won't shake his support to punish his cousins…" Selina hung up before Madelyn finished.

"I'm so pissed!" Madelyn threw her phone down. Christina collapsed, ghastly pale. It was too late. What could they do? Before she could think, another call arrived—from Trevon.

Seeing his name, Madelyn felt as if she held a hot potato, tossing the phone to Christina. "Christina… you… you take it!"

Christina threw it back. "Are you out of your mind? Trevon's calling you!"

"I took Selina's call; it's your turn!"

"I'd rather deal with Selina than Trevon! We're done for! It's all because of you!" Near a breakdown, Christina sobbed, a stark contrast to their earlier champagne celebration. Crossing Selina meant crossing Trevon, and exile from Sokovis would ruin Christina's career!

Madelyn trembled. "What do you mean it's my fault? You agreed to it! We're in the same boat!"

Finally, the ringing stopped. Madelyn breathed a sigh of relief, but a text message followed: “[Since you're not planning to settle this properly, I'll have a talk with the Hudson family.]”

If her family learned of this, Madelyn would be in deep trouble. She called Trevon back.

"Trevon, I messed up; I was confused… I was trying to protect you from Selina's deception. Forgive me; it won't happen again!"

Trevon replied coldly: "First, you and Christina leave Sokovis. Second, if I have to take action, don't blame me for not showing family mercy. The Hudsons will disown you."

"Trevon, do you really have to be so ruthless? We are family, and Selina's just a trophy wife! You don't even love her! Are we really severing ties over her?" Madelyn shouted. Christina tried to stop her, but it was too late. "I'm sorry, Trevon, Madelyn's not thinking straight…"

Trevon hung up.

Christina flew into a rage, grabbing Madelyn's hair. "Madelyn, are you trying to get us kicked out? I'm done with you! Done!"

The fight escalated, fueled by fear and resentment. They both ended up in the hospital.

Selina was in her dressing room, manicuring her nails while video chatting with Lydia. "Selina," Lydia exclaimed, "I didn't expect you to reveal yourself so boldly! Now I'm dying to see the Harvey family's faces, especially Manuel's!"

Lydia remembered Selina's confession at the Seaside Bar and Manuel's stunned expression. "Lydia, stick with me, and there will be tons of drama. The high society's scheming will give us plenty to gossip about. How about you move to Sokovis and keep me company?" Selina proposed.

"Don't worry, I'm focused on The Rose. Once I'm bored, I'll switch things up. For now, it's all on you for juicy stories, babe," Lydia replied.

Devin knocked. "Mrs. Brady, Lauren would like a word with you."
