Chapter 63

Trevon adored Selina's fearless handling of unsavory characters, always employing innovative methods. The more he learned about her, the more captivated he became, experiencing a profound sense of joy. In this world, only his contractual wife could evoke such feelings. His once dull life had been revitalized since marrying her.

Selina cherished Trevon's thoughtfulness, even knowing their marriage was a one-year contract. He excelled at managing things. Most importantly, he supported her passions and proactively addressed her dislikes. Even when she confronted individuals connected to him, he applauded her actions instead of hindering them. Where else could she find such a perfect husband?

Thinking this, Selina tiptoed to Trevon and patted his cheek, whispering, "Good boy!" Trevon paused, and even Charley, witnessing the scene, exclaimed, "Holy crap!" He’d been too busy teasing Edwin to record the moment, a pang of regret hitting him. Such footage would be incredibly popular among their social circle, potentially causing a sensation.

Trevon smiled. "Should I be happy or unhappy with your praise?"

Selina replied, "Honey, when I'm flattering you, of course you should be happy. As you said, when you act, you have to go all out. I always adhere to my role as your wife."

Selina's pleasure in Trevon's actions softened her demeanor, leading to playful banter. Perhaps she needed to move past her past life's sorrow, embracing beautiful things and companions instead of dwelling on hatred. This "second chance at life" held immense significance.

"Then I should be happy. As for adhering to the role of my wife…" Trevon began.

"Do you want to say I'm not cooperative enough? Those scums provoked me; they deserved the consequences. I'm not a violent sadist," Selina retorted.

"No, you did a good job. As my wife, you can't be a weakling. If you're bullied, fight back, regardless of the consequences. I'll handle the aftermath," Trevon said, his smile deepening.

Outsiders might not consider Selina's behavior ladylike or suitable for Sokovis's high society, but Trevon's approval was all that mattered. He had the final say; no one could disobey him.

After resolving the matter, Selina intended to bid farewell to The Rose members before leaving with Trevon. However, Lydia's message revealed they had already departed with Elaine twenty minutes prior. A slightly unhappy Selina called back. "Lydia, why didn't you say goodbye?"

"Ahem… Trevon was there, and you two were radiating such intense affection, it was lethal to single people! What could I do?" Lydia exclaimed dramatically.

Selina replied, "Lydia, you know our relationship's nature. Don't make such jokes."

Lydia said, "Selina, I know, but you two are quite compatible. Though, I think no man is worthy of you. If Trevon ever dares to develop feelings for you, I'll be the first to object." Selina froze. Are Trevon and I really compatible?

Trevon supported her decisions, allowing her to pursue happiness without worrying about consequences. He always cleaned up any mess. Their relationship was purely contractual, mutual assistance. Why would Lydia think otherwise?

After seeing the girl off and tidying up, Selina left with Trevon. Charley, having observed everything, finally answered Edwin's frantic calls. "Edwin, you won't believe what I saw. Damn, I'm so excited…"

"Charley! If you keep teasing me, I'll kill you!" Edwin threatened.

"Waaah…" Charley feigned tears.

Selina returned to the villa with Trevon, unusually quiet. Even when exiting the car, she remained pensive.

"What are you thinking about?" Trevon's voice, close and intimate, startled her. She smelled his pleasant scent.

"Nothing," Selina shook her head, exiting the car. The manor's night breeze felt surprisingly chilly, even in summer, clearing her head somewhat. Lydia's words still lingered.

To others, they seemed a perfect match. Yet, Selina knew their marriage was a one-year contract, a performance of fake spouses.

A warm hand then gently grasped Selina's. "Honey, with so many people watching, you wouldn't want to appear estranged, would you? We usually return hand-in-hand," Trevon said.

"I know, of course not. Honey, you did a good job today, and I won't let you down," Selina smiled knowingly. Forget about it, she thought. Her past life had been miserable. This second chance wouldn't be wasted. She had the power to get what she wanted. Being with Trevon, playing the role of wife, was something she willingly embraced. That was enough.
