Chapter 80

Trevon informed Andrew that Selina would participate in the Sokovis Jewelry Design Contest as a designer for Brilliance in six days. Andrew, though initially surprised, recalled Trevon's past investigation into Selina's possible connection to “Charm,” the notorious dark web hacker, understanding the implications. He immediately began making arrangements for the event.

After Trevon's call, Selina, Malcolm, and Lydia finalized dinner plans. Selina then drove her Lamborghini to Brilliance. Collaborating with the company, she deemed firsthand observation essential, and the visit presented a perfect opportunity to showcase her abilities—and subtly outmaneuver Timothy.

Upon arriving at Brilliance's impressive U-shaped building, Selina exited her car, removed her sunglasses, and surveyed the structure. "Hmm," she mused, "a crafty design—it passes!"

Entering Brilliance, her striking beauty caused the receptionist to do a double take before composing a professional smile. "How may I assist you today, Miss?"

Calmly, Selina replied, "I'm Selina Harvey. An appointment should already be scheduled for me."

"Just a moment, please..." The receptionist, internally puzzled, acknowledged that she should recognize such a distinctive face—one belonging to a celebrity or socialite. Yet, despite encountering many, she couldn't place Selina, only noting her surpassing beauty.

Selina's arrival was swiftly acknowledged. "Ms. Harvey, I'll take care of this," a respectful voice announced. Turning, Selina saw a tall man in a sleek black suit; his piercing, cold eyes conveyed an air of danger, his handsome features suggesting a "don't mess with me" attitude.

The receptionist, sensing a VIP's arrival, asked, "Andrew, are you here for her?"

"Yes," Andrew replied, bowing slightly to Selina. "Ms. Harvey, please follow me."

"Okay."

In the elevator, ascending to the thirtieth floor, Selina discreetly observed Andrew. His breathing, movement, and awareness of potential threats spoke volumes. Clearly, being Trevon's secretary and a Brady was no ordinary position.

Andrew glanced sideways. "Mr. Brady mentioned your participation in the Sokovis Jewelry Design Contest in six days."

She smiled. "Yes, that's right."

"While Brilliance is relatively new, the team, especially the designers, has been handpicked by Mr. Brady. Mrs. Brady, you must be aware of Brilliance's international achievements. If Mrs. Brady insists on joining, I doubt they'll be welcoming."

"That's precisely what I want. A company that bends too easily has reached its limit. True talents should have their pride. And one more thing—they don't know I'm Trevon's wife, do they?"

"I haven't been instructed to disclose such major news, so I haven't."

"Good. It's more pleasant this way. I don't want any barriers due to my identity as Trevon's wife." Seeing Selina's confidence, Andrew, recalling Trevon's confirmation of her identity as Charm, remained silent. He thought, Let's see what this woman, who charmed Trevon himself, is truly capable of.

The elevator stopped on the twentieth floor. A woman in a creamy suit jacket and white leather mini-skirt entered, her red heels clicking, a strong, almost overpowering perfume preceding her. Selina experienced a sense of déjà vu.

When the woman saw Andrew, her eyes lit up. "Andrew, fancy seeing you here! Don't tell me Trevon's come to Brilliance too?"

Selina recognized the resemblance. This was like Madelyn. Even the heavy makeup was identical.

"Mr. Brady didn't come. I'm here with Ms. Harvey," Andrew replied, concealing his evident disgust.

He whispered to Selina, "That's Christina, from the Hudson family's third branch, Madelyn's cousin. She's three months younger and a jewelry designer here. She's quite talented."

Selina muttered, dismissively, "Figures the cousins would share the same lowbrow tastes."

At the mention of her name, Christina's eyes fixed on Selina, intensely. Selina ignored her. The entire Hudson family likely knew of her marriage to Trevon. Let them stare, she thought. I hold the upper hand.

Christina's expression revealed envy, resentment, and jealousy. She hadn't expected Trevon's wife to be so stunning—Selina's photographs didn't do her justice.

"So, you're Selina, Trevon's wife. I've heard so much about you," Christina said, attempting to link arms with Selina, who subtly avoided her.

"Sorry, I have allergic rhinitis, and your perfume is too strong. Please keep your distance," Selina declined politely but firmly.

Christina stiffened. Selina's comment was a clear slight. What a joke! Christina thought. Does this low-class woman, who only knows how to please men, not recognize Guerlain's top limited-edition perfume? Truly the nose of the impoverished!

Christina knew better than to antagonize Selina; even Madelyn had been defeated by her. Selina, even temporarily, was Trevon's publicly acknowledged wife.

"My apologies, Selina. I didn't realize you had allergic rhinitis. Next time, I won't wear this Guerlain Christmas edition. It's wonderful, but strong," Christina said, feigning remorse.

Selina offered a slight smile, seeing through her pretense. Compared to Ashley, Christina was minor league.
