Chapter 54

“Abuduteh, please follow me,” the manager said, nodding eagerly as he led Cameron and the others to a table by the window. Once seated, an attendant approached with glasses of water.

The manager then presented a drinks menu. “What can I get for you this evening?” he asked Cameron, turning to Quinn, who looked uncomfortable. “What would you like to drink?”

Lost in thought about Cameron’s earlier gift, Quinn blinked in surprise. “Huh?”

“Mr. Seton’s asking what you’d like to drink,” Harry clarified.

“Alcohol?” Quinn’s mind raced. She shook her head. “Thank you, but I don’t drink.”

“Then let’s go with some dry white wine,” Cameron decided, glancing at the manager.

Quinn was startled. Hadn’t she just said she didn’t drink?

“Certainly! We just received an excellent dry white wine imported from Valona yesterday. I’ll have some brought over for you to try,” the manager replied.

“Sounds good,” Cameron nodded.

After ordering drinks, the manager provided the food menu. Quinn chose the dishes, selecting white meat to complement Cameron’s wine choice.

As the attendant returned with the wine for tasting, Harry’s phone rang, and he stepped away to answer it. Cameron took a sip, nodding at the attendant. “This is good.”

The attendant filled two glasses. Seeing only two, Quinn felt relieved and offered a grateful look.

Just then, Harry returned, apologetic. “Mr. Seton, I’m sorry, but Kevin from the project team has been hospitalized with an acute stomach ulcer. He was to deliver the Moon Island bid tomorrow, but now he can’t. I’ll need to return to Yatra personally to handle it; I hope to be back by noon tomorrow.”

“Go ahead. Tell Kevin to take care of himself. He doesn’t need to worry about the Moon Island project,” Cameron said dismissively.

Quinn was surprised by this softer side of the usually stern Cameron. He seemed genuinely concerned for his employee. But with Harry gone, what would happen to the two glasses of wine?

Her gaze fixed on the glasses as Cameron leaned forward, his long fingers gently pushing one toward her. Her fate seemed sealed – she couldn’t escape the drink tonight.

“Thank you,” she said, offering a shaky smile as she picked up the glass.

A charming smile spread across Cameron’s face as he raised his glass, clinking it against hers. The soft chime echoed as he took a delicate sip, his captivating eyes meeting Quinn’s.
