Cameron laughed coldly. “Right. Initially, I didn’t think much of a small company like Ascend Group. But isn’t it Mr. Smith who wanted Ascend Group and Imperial Group to merge? You went to great lengths to have me drugged. Now, you’re willing to acquire Ascend Group and turn it into a subsidiary of Imperial Group. Why isn’t Mr. Smith happy about that?”
Jeremy left in a fit of anger, his face reddening as he clenched his fists. Varichu, seizing the opportunity, Cameron added, “Of course, I’d also be happy to take my time. Ascend Group becoming utterly mine is no one's key priority. There’s still a long way to go.” Jeremy spat through gritted teeth, shooting Cameron a furious glare before turning to leave.
Cameron’s attention returned to the young woman before him, and he felt troubled. He had only intended to gauge Jeremy’s tolerance, but he hadn’t expected her to become so intoxicated after just a few drinks. A nearby attendant hurried over. “Sir, how may I assist you?” Cameron glanced at the attendant but waved him off. “Never mind.”
He walked over to Quinn, scooping her up effortlessly. He cradled her in his arms as he approached the exit. Quinn had been sleeping soundly, but being lifted stirred her awake, and she protested slightly. Frowning, she squirmed in his embrace, her slender arm instinctively draping around his neck. Nestling her head into the crook of his shoulder, she sought closeness. Her soft body pressed against his, her skin smooth as silk.
In the elevator, the attendant kindly pressed the button for them, their expression a mix of surprise and curiosity. Reaching the top floor, Cameron approached the presidential suite. Since the room key was in Quinn’s handbag, he reluctantly set her down, supporting her as he retrieved the key.
At that moment, Quinn squirmed uncomfortably. She stumbled about, refusing to hold onto Cameron’s neck for balance. With a quick hand, Cameron extracted the key card and unlocked the door. As they entered, Quinn whined, “I’m hungry,” then unexpectedly bit his chest. “What are you doing?” Cameron gasped, startled. He tried to push her away, but she clung to him. “Meat! I want meat!” Cameron regretted letting her drink so much.
Once inside, the door closed automatically, and he carried her into the living room. On the ground, she opened her bleary eyes, trying to make sense of her surroundings and the man before her. Unfortunately, her mind was foggy, and she had no clue where she was or who he was. “Handsome,” she called out, reaching for his face instinctively.
Cameron had never expected the usually demure and gentle Quinn to transform into such a bold version of herself when intoxicated. He was even more surprised that he didn’t mind her touching him. When her soft body pressed against him, he felt an old, familiar urge begin to stir within him.
