Lucas glared at the shattered diamond bracelet, then at Noelle. "Satisfied?"
Noelle shrugged. "I gave Xenia all that jewelry. Broken or not, it's irrelevant. Why the drama, Lucas?"
"This is different!" Lucas snapped. "Admit it, or we're checking the security footage."
Xenia's anxiety flared. "Lucas, please. No need for a scene."
Frank frowned. "Xenia tripped. Take her to the hospital, Lucas."
Lucas's resolve hardened. Noelle's nonchalance fueled his suspicion. "No! I'm finding the truth!"
Frank looked at Noelle. "What exactly happened?" He doubted her innocence.
Noelle met his gaze. "It doesn't matter. Check the footage."
Hotel staff arrived with the surveillance tablet. Lucas snatched it. "The truth is here!" He already believed Noelle was guilty. The footage showed Xenia stepping on Noelle's skirt; Noelle moved aside; Xenia fell. Noelle watched calmly. "So?"
Frank watched, then stared coldly at Lucas. "Did you see that? It was an accident!"
Lucas saw it too. His face burned. "Noelle heard Xenia! If she hadn't moved…" He trailed off, the absurdity of his statement hanging in the air.
Frank exploded. "Lucas, are you insane?"
Noelle tossed her drink in Lucas's face.
"Noelle!" Lucas yelled, but she hurled the empty glass. He dodged; it hit Xenia.
Noelle sneered. "You dodged. Selfish!"
Lucas stomped. "You're framing me!"
Noelle lifted an eyebrow. "A taste of your own medicine."
Rachel spoke up. "You said Noelle shouldn't move, but you dodged! That's hypocritical!"
Michael chimed in, "Xenia tripped Noelle on purpose! Serves her right!" Rachel nodded. "Xenia should apologize!"
Frank turned to Xenia. "Why did you step on her skirt?" Something felt wrong.
Xenia's carefully constructed facade crumbled. "I...I was trying to catch up and accidentally stepped on her dress. It wasn't intentional!"
Lucas defended her. "I know Xenia didn't mean it, but Noelle made sure she got hurt!"
Noelle's eyes glittered. "This is par for the course."
Guilt washed over Frank. He slapped Lucas. "Apologize to Noelle now!"
Lucas stared, stunned. "It's Noelle's fault!" He couldn't comprehend the slap.
