Chapter 70

Trank continued to call out Noelle’s name even as he collapsed. He realized he had failed his younger sister. He was at fault. He was wrong, so utterly wrong.

After leaving the Liddell residence, Noelle took a taxi to the apartment. She had left the Liddells for good.

She arrived at Cedric’s door. It suddenly swung open as she was about to knock.

“Congratulations, Nelly!” shouted Alfred. With a loud pop, the party popper in his hand shot out colorful confetti at Noelle.

Noelle was a little startled by the warm welcome. Cedric was standing near the dinner table with a small cake beside him.

Intrigued, she asked, “Is it someone’s birthday today?”

Alfred stood still and replied, “You’re free from the Liddells now. It’s like the first day of your new life, no? That’s why we got you a cake to celebrate!”

After learning about Noelle’s life within the Liddell family, he could not help but feel sympathy for her. He decided he wanted to see her freedom through to the end. Noelle felt her eyes warming up slightly. “Thank you.”

“No need to be so formal, Noelle. We’re friends! Come on. Let’s eat. After that, it’s time to blow out the candles and make a wish.”

Noelle quietly considered her wish. She wished never to have any ties with the Liddells again and to live the rest of her life on her own terms.

After the meal, Cedric asked, “What do you want to do now? No matter what she chose to do, he would ensure that she achieved it.”

Noelle thought for a while and replied, “I’m thinking of going into live streaming.”

Now that she had left the Liddell family, it was time for her to start earning her own money.

Alfred said, “Oh, perfect timing. There’s a Hall of Fame ranking competition happening tonight. You could stream your gameplay while participating in the tournament.” Noelle remembered the Hall of Fame event.

In her previous life, she obtained a very high rank on the leaderboard, but Lucas later took away her account and gave it to Xonia for her stream instead. As a result, all the glory that came from having such a prestigious ranking went to Xonia.

No one would ever know about all the effort she had put into the game to secure a top-ten spot on the leaderboard. She refused to let such a thing happen this time around.

Cedric looked at her and asked, “Which site would you like to stream on?”

Alfred suggested, “How about Firestorm? It’s a reliable and well-established company, and their support for new streamers is excellent, too.”

More importantly, Firestorm was a company owned by the Greene family.

Cedric glared at Alfred as a warning.

“I’ll just stream at whichever site makes the most money,” replied Noelle. She had also heard about Firestorm, a company owned by the Greene family of Belle.

Lucas also launched his own streaming platform called Starlight, but it was not as popular as Firestorm. Starlight had skyrocketed in popularity in her previous life after Noelle won the finals. As a result, it even became a publicly listed company.

This time, without her help, Lucas’s company would mostly end up in bankruptcy.

Noelle eventually registered an account on Firestorm with the username “SweetNelly.”

She finished setting up her stream. Instead of showing her face, the camera only showed her hands on the keyboard.

Thanks to her experience from her previous life, she navigated through the game’s dungeons with ease and began racking up points easily. Meanwhile, Alfred entered the study and asked, “Why don’t you help her with the points?”

“She doesn’t need my help. She’ll be able to qualify for the top 100 preliminary stage tonight.”

“You’re seriously that confident in her? I’ll send Nelly some gifts on her stream later. Don’t forget to reimburse me, okay?”

Alfred joined Noelle’s stream and saw that there weren’t many viewers yet, but there was already a troll barking within her chat.

“The lag in that? Nice hack, noob. Look at the sour puss.”

“If she’s not using cheats, I’ll stream myself eating dirt!”

“I bet she loses in her first PK-ranked match even before the preliminaries.”

Noelle naturally noticed the comments.

More and more people joined the stream out of curiosity because of the troll’s accusation of Noelle cheating.

When her first Player Kill match began, she eliminated her opponent with just a single move! With that, the chat erupted into a frenzy.
