Chapter 189

“Harry,” Sophia called out sweetly when Harry returned. Harry nodded coldly. Seeing Matteo looking for someone, Sophia said, “Raven just got a call and went outside to take it.” Matteo replied, “Alright, I understand.”

Just as he finished speaking, a commotion arose nearby. Old Master Hall had emerged, accompanied by Jordan Hall, Jimmy Hall, and other members of the Hall family.

With so many guests, Old Master Hall waited for quiet before speaking, thanking everyone for coming. Freya, Johnny, and others stood further back, but Jordan still noticed them. Johnny had come on behalf of the elderly head of the Gray family to present a gift; Jimmy had already informed him and the elder. However, Freya’s presence was unknown to him.

Seeing Freya, Jordan smiled and nodded. Freya, unaware of Jordan’s relationship with Old Master Hall, politely smiled in return. The Brown and Green families saw Jordan greeting someone but weren’t sure who.

After Old Master Hall finished his speech, the room erupted in applause. Many guests approached to discuss his artwork, and many greeted Jordan and the others. After a while, Harry and Matteo finally approached Old Master Hall. Old Master Hall took their gifts, saying, “You’re very considerate.” His gaze shifted between Matteo, Harry, Rex, and the others. He smiled, “It’s been years since we’ve met, and you young men look even more outstanding now. Not bad, not bad.”

While Old Master Hall spoke with Matteo and the others, Jordan greeted other guests and walked toward Freya and the others. Johnny saw him coming and greeted him. After exchanging pleasantries with Johnny, Jordan turned to Freya and said, “Mag, we meet again.” Freya greeted him, “Uncle Hall.” Jordan smiled and, knowing her grandmother’s identity, politely shook hands with Old Mrs. Miller.

When Freya mentioned that Old Mrs. Miller was a fan of his father’s paintings, Jordan laughed and said, “If the old lady doesn’t mind, I’d be happy to invite her inside to have a seat. Today, there are many guests, but those who truly appreciate my father’s paintings, I’m afraid, could be counted on one hand. Knowing someone like you, who understands, my father would certainly be very happy.”

Jordan had specifically come over to speak to Freya. But to others, it seemed like he was just greeting other guests while coincidentally passing by Johnny. Everyone assumed Jordan was showing respect to the Gray family by speaking to Freya.

Having spoken with Old Master Hall for a while, Matteo’s phone rang. He apologized and left the crowd to take the call. After walking a little, Raven returned, having finished her phone call. Raven was outstanding in both appearance and demeanor. As she passed through the crowd and joined Rex and Harry, Old Master Hall noticed her. He thought she had a good bearing and, assuming she was either Harry or Rex’s girlfriend, was about to speak when Rex noticed that Harry wasn’t introducing Raven. He stepped in, saying, “Old Master, this is Raven, she’s Mr. Wilson’s girlfriend.”

“Ah, she’s the girlfriend of that young man from the Wilson family?” Old Master Hall smiled. “They’re a good match.” Raven responded politely, “You flatter me.” Looking at Harry, Rex, and Jimmy, Old Master Hall smiled and said, “You guys should hurry up.”

At that moment, Jordan brought Freya and Johnny over. He introduced Johnny to Old Master Hall, “Father, this is the youngest member of the Gray family. His company, Cole, has been doing very well recently and is one of the national projects for the next few years.” He then introduced Freya, “This is Freya, a core technical developer at Cole. She is an invaluable talent in the tech field. Cole’s success today is closely tied to her.”

The older generation was always concerned with the country’s future. Hearing Jordan’s words, Old Master Hall smiled even more warmly, “Nice, with so many talented individuals in our country, things will definitely improve.” Jordan also introduced Old Mrs. Miller to Old Master Hall, and the two began discussing art. Upon hearing Jordan’s introduction of Freya, it was almost identical to how Johnny had introduced her at the last banquet. Raven thought Jordan was praising Freya because of his admiration for Johnny, and that was why he spoke so highly of her. Seeing Freya and Old Mrs. Miller receiving so much praise in front of the Hall family, Old Mrs. Green and the Brown family members felt somewhat uncomfortable. Old Mrs. Green hadn’t attended the previous banquet, so she didn’t know that Johnny had already praised Freya there. Now, hearing Jordan praise her in the same way, Tracy pulled Raven aside and whispered, “Is Freya really that impressive?” Raven smiled indifferently and replied, “It’s fake.”
