Listen to this chapter:

Isabella must have had a blast with Raven and the others over the weekend, because Freya hadn't heard from her at all. By Monday, Freya went to work at Cole as usual. It was almost time to get off work when Jessica called and invited her to dinner. After they finished eating, Freya went to the bathroom, where she ran into Harry.

Freya walked past him without acknowledging him. Harry, however, stopped and watched her. Freya noticed but ignored him. When she came out of the bathroom, Harry was still standing where they had crossed paths. He turned to her and asked, "Are you eating over here?" His tone suggested he had been waiting for her. "Yes," she answered curtly. "Do you think I'm stalking you, Mr. Becker?"

Harry paused before replying, "That's not what I meant." Freya didn't understand, and didn't want to. Without another word, she left, and Harry didn't try to stop her.

After leaving the restaurant, Jessica wanted to buy a birthday gift for her mother, so Freya went with her to a jewelry store. Jessica was drawn to a set of jade necklaces. She had just briefly chatted with the store manager when someone's voice came from the door: "Hello, I'm here to pick up the jewelry." Freya paused.

"Ah, Mr. Brown," the store manager greeted him, smiling. He apologized to Freya and Jessica, then walked toward Mr. Brown. "Mr. Brown, the jewelry you customized is all packed up for you—"

"Mag?" Logan Brown approached Freya after confirming her identity. "Are you here to order jewelry as well?" Freya glanced at him but didn't speak. Seeing her indifference, Logan's expression dimmed. "Mag…"

Freya turned away, ignoring him. She asked Jessica, "Are you sure you want to choose this one?" Jessica, who hadn't seen Logan before, observed his refined and gentlemanly appearance. She nudged Freya's waist and whispered, "Who is that?" Freya didn't respond. But Logan didn't leave. He stood there, staring at Freya, and asked, "Mag, how have you been recently?"

Freya bit her lip and finally faced him. Her voice was cold when she asked, "What do you want to say?"

"I…" Logan's voice softened. "Mag, do you have to speak to your father like this?"

Freya coldly responded, "And how do you think I should speak to you?"

"Your father knows he has done things wrong in the past, but you know, I've always had you in my heart."

Freya laughed bitterly. "Oh, so you've always had me in your heart, but you allowed Raven to get close to my husband, and you let my husband take good care of her—tell me, how can you say that you've always had me in your heart?"

"Mag…" Logan frowned. "I understand your feelings, but Raven and Matteo truly love each other. Love can't be forced, so why—"

"Yes, love can't be forced. So, your affair back then was perfectly justified, and now she's just like her mother, proudly playing the role of the mistress, right?"

Logan's face darkened. "Mag! When did you become so extreme?"

"Extreme?" Freya sneered. "Should I immediately divorce Matteo to make way for Raven? Would that be less extreme?"

At that moment, Tracy and Sophia entered. Tracy immediately noticed Freya and smiled. "Isn't this Mag? Long time no see, you're even more beautiful."

"Mom…" Hearing Tracy's praise, Sophia became unhappy. She had always known Freya was beautiful, but hadn't expected her to look even more beautiful after a few years. Looking at Freya's fair and delicate skin and outstanding temperament, Sophia felt a pang of jealousy. But then she remembered, what difference did it make that Freya was beautiful? Her future brother-in-law still didn't like her; he only liked her sister, Raven. Thinking this, Sophia felt a bit better.

Logan looked at Tracy. "Sister-in-law, why are you here?"

"We hadn't seen you for so long, so we came to visit," Sophia interrupted. Then, seeing the jewelry box the store manager had opened, she looked at Freya and purposely said loudly, "Is this the anniversary gift you customized for Auntie? It's so beautiful!"

Logan smiled. "Yes."

"Every year, you prepare such expensive gifts for Auntie in advance, always giving her surprises. You're really good to Auntie," Sophia added with a smile.

Logan chuckled.
