Listen to this chapter:

With that, their conversation with their teacher concluded. Nolan turned to Freya. Freya straightened her back.

"Teacher…"

"Who did you find?"

Nolan gave her a cold glance, delivered that line, and turned to leave. Freya froze.

Johnny said, "Teacher was asking about your husband."

Nolan's meaning was clear: Look at who you've married! Freya understood immediately.

But…

"Did they say anything?"

Earlier, during the conference, she and Johnny had been quite far from the front row. They saw Matteo and Raven stand to greet the teacher after his speech, but weren't sure what was said.

Johnny shook his head. "I don't know."

Freya: "..."

That made sense. They were deeply engaged in conversation, and when she and Johnny spoke to Nolan, Raven and Lauren had also appeared, coincidentally witnessing their conversation.

Watching Nolan leave, Lauren turned to Raven and said, "It's fine. She doesn't have your level of expertise. So what if she knows Nolan? It's not useful to her. She can't become his disciple."

Raven: "I know."

She said, "Let's go."

Freya and the others had only stepped aside to speak with Nolan, not to leave permanently. It was a valuable networking opportunity; leaving would be a shame. So, after Nolan left, they returned to the exhibition hall.

Later, they also saw Matteo, but Freya didn't approach him, and he didn't approach her. To others, they appeared to be complete strangers.

Chapter 84

Raven and her group didn't leave either. Previously, at the jewelry store, Logan had greeted Freya, expressing his feelings. But today, despite several encounters, he showed less initiative and concern. Freya found this somewhat laughable.

But she also understood why. After all, Raven was present. Everyone knew he was Raven's father. If he acknowledged Freya, and her marriage to Matteo became known, how could he, as a father, face anyone? Raven would likely be engulfed in gossip as well. Logan's bias toward Raven was glaringly obvious.

Logan didn't want to engage with Freya in this setting, but couldn't ignore someone like Johnny. So, when Freya went to the restroom, he, with Raven and Lauren, approached Johnny.

He introduced himself: "Mr. Gray, hello, I'm Logan, Raven's… and Freya's father. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Johnny politely shook his hand. "Oh, Mr. Brown, it's a pleasure to meet you too."

Logan glanced at Raven. "Mag's temper can be extreme, and there's a misunderstanding between her and Raven. As a father, I've hoped they could get along, but unfortunately, Freya never listens…"

Johnny nodded understandingly. "Ah, I see…"

"Yeah," Logan sighed, then smiled. "But Freya is lucky to know someone like you, a talented young man. As a father, I'm really happy for her. I heard she started working at your company, so I'll trouble you to look after her in the future, please."

It truly sounded like he cared about Freya. If Logan hadn't approached Johnny when Freya was absent, if he didn't know about Freya's past and relationship with Matteo, Johnny might have believed him. But Johnny didn't say that. He smiled. "You're too kind, Mr. Brown. Freya is an outstanding person, and having her with us is truly a blessing for our company, Cole."

Logan and Raven took it as a polite remark. Given Freya's resume, what could she possibly contribute to Johnny's company? She might only be suitable for running errands or ordinary programming tasks… However, Logan didn't say that aloud. Raven didn't respond either.
