Harry and Raven were also on good terms. Clearly, compared to her, they preferred Matten with Raven. Harry and Levi likely hoped she would have an ambiguous relationship with someone else, freeing Matteo from her. Why would they care if she had ambiguous relationships with other men, risking Matteo's unhappiness?

After getting into her car, Freya drove away. By the time she arrived at the old house, it was completely dark. Inside, besides the servants, only Grandma Wilson was present. Upon learning of Freya's arrival, she came out personally to greet her.

Seeing Freya was alone, her smile faltered. "Where's Isabella?"

Matteo's absence wasn't unusual, so Grandma Wilson didn't press further. However, Isabella usually returned with Freya, so her absence was curious. Since Freya's ankle healed, after a meal at the villa with Isabella, she hadn't heard from her.

Freya had no idea what Matteo and Isabella had been doing over the weekend, or who they were with. She didn't even care to ask.

Hearing Grandma Wilson's question, Freya smiled and said, "They should be here soon." Despite this, she was uncertain whether they would arrive that night. After all, hadn't the same thing happened last time they went to the hot spring resort?

Assuming Freya knew Matteo and Isabella's plans, Grandma Wilson didn't press for details. She assumed everything was fine.

Freya spent a considerable time talking with Grandma Wilson, but by almost 7:30, there was still no sign of Matteo or Isabella.

Grandma Wilson furrowed her brow. "What time is it? Why aren't they here yet?"

As she spoke, she seemed to recall Matteo's absence from their last trip to the hot spring resort. Her face darkened, and she turned to Freya. "Mag, could you call him and remind him?"

Freya sighed and called Matteo.

He answered quickly, seemingly guessing the reason for the call. "We'll be there in twenty minutes."

Just as Freya was about to reply, she heard snippets of conversation. "...really were with Raven..." Then, Raven spoke softly to Matteo, "...go upstairs first." Matteo responded with a simple, "Mm." Freya heard Matteo's indifferent tone: "Is there anything else...?"

Freya snapped back to reality. "No, that's all." Before she could hang up, Matteo added something.

"Is something wrong? Are they not coming back?" Grandma Wilson asked angrily. "Matteo is really—"

"No," Freya replied with a faint smile. "There's just traffic at this hour. They'll be here in twenty minutes."

Hearing this, Grandma Wilson's expression softened slightly, though she was still clearly upset. The butler, standing nearby, smiled and reminded her, "Miss Isabella is still in the car…"

Grandma Wilson paused, then snorted. "Fine, fine. For my little great-granddaughter's sake, I'll let him off this time!"

Freya smiled but didn't reply.

Twenty minutes later, Matteo and his daughter finally arrived. Grandma Wilson didn't look at Matteo but warmly waved to Isabella, smiling, "Isabella, you're back!"

"Grandma!" Isabella ran to Grandma Wilson, who hugged her and affectionately rubbed her head before letting her go to Freya. "Mom."

"Mm." Freya embraced Isabella and noticed the faint scent of Raven's perfume on her clothes. She didn't mention it but gently pushed Isabella away.

Matteo sat next to Grandma Wilson and handed her a box. "A gift to apologize."

Inside was a rare snow tea that Grandma Wilson loved—a hard-to-find and extremely expensive item.

Grandma Wilson knew it was an apology for Matteo missing the hot spring resort trip. She snorted. "At least you know how to bring a gift for Grandma. But what about Mag? Did you prepare an apology gift for her?"

Matteo smiled but said nothing, merely glancing at Freya—a simple look, devoid of other emotions.
