Chapter 150
In the livestream, viewers excitedly watched Alex confess to Nina.
[Wow, Alex is so brave!] [Everyone else is surviving in the wild forest, but Alex is treating it like a dating show!] [How dare Alex go after Mr. Bennett's woman? Isn't he afraid of being blacklisted?] [But honestly, Alex and Nina do look like a good match. I have a good eye for them.]
Nina paused, blushed, and firmly declined Alex's confession. "Alex, I'm sorry. I already like someone."
A sly smile spread across Alex's face as he chuckled. "It's fine that you like someone. Do you mind liking one more?" Nina was stunned. She stared at him and said, "Alex, this isn't right."
Alex laughed. "I'm just kidding, Nina. But if you ever change your mind, think of me. I'll be waiting." Nina blushed again.
She'd never been confessed to before. Everyone assumed she belonged to Jonathan, so no one dared pursue her. She felt flustered by Alex's confession. Although she didn't have feelings for him, she found it intriguing.
[Nina is so naive. Alex was just flirting, and she took it seriously.] [I must say, Alex looks quite charming when he's flirting. He's like the iconic handsome playboy from a rich and powerful family.] [This is the kind of dating show I want to see. Showrunners, let them explore romance more!] [Nina's crush is Mr. Bennett, right?] [They're flirting while starving? I suspect Jason's show, The Escape, got banned, so he's making a wilderness survival show disguised as a dating series.]
While Nina talked to Alex, Jonathan left. Nina chased him a few steps before stopping. She felt upset and couldn't understand why Bennett followed them.
As Cynthia entered the forest, she noticed Jonathan following them. She didn't mind. The drone trailed the three of them, with half the livestream showing the trio. Cynthia followed Ethan.
She tried talking to him several times, but he seemed indifferent and didn't speak much, seemingly unwilling to waste words.
As rumored online, Ethan acted reserved and narcissistic. He hadn't removed his sunglasses since arriving.
Cynthia decided to stop embarrassing herself and quietly followed. Jonathan remained silent, following behind Cynthia.
Soon, they reached a rocky, difficult slope covered in moss, making it slippery.
Cynthia was cautious, but while climbing, she stepped on moss, slipped, and almost fell.
Ethan heard the noise and turned, but was too far to help. Jonathan, however, was beside Cynthia.
On instinct, Cynthia reached for him, but retracted her hand. She let herself fall backward—but didn't. A strong arm wrapped around her waist, and she found herself against a solid chest.
A familiar scent—Jonathan's unique cool fragrance—reminded her of falling asleep in his arms, feeling like ages ago.
Jonathan saw Cynthia's face close to his and was momentarily distracted, but quickly noticed the drone. "Be careful, Cynthia," he said casually, releasing her.
Cynthia slightly furrowed her brows. "Thanks," she said softly.
This scene excited the livestream viewers.
[I never expected Mr. Bennett to help Cynthia! Are they supposed to dislike each other?] [Oh my gosh, Mr. Bennett is so cool when his arm wrapped around Cynthia's waist!] [I know they won't be a couple, but they really look like a good match. All eight guests are attractive, but these two are the best. I really want a romance between them.] [Don't overthink it. Mr. Bennett was just being polite. As for Cynthia, it's hard to say if her slip was intentional.] [Cynthia reflexively tried to grab someone, but when she realized it was Mr. Bennett, she immediately pulled back. She just didn't want to get involved with him, but you guys are still slandering her!]
Ethan approached, showing rare concern. "Cynthia, are you alright?" Cynthia shook her head and looked around.
"Ethan, how long until we get there?" Cynthia had a bad feeling. "We saw many cameras, but we're now in a remote area with none. We seem to have passed the filming area. It's risky to continue."
Ethan pursed his lips. "I think I'm lost."
"Lost?" Cynthia was surprised. "When did that happen?"
Ethan paused. "Actually, I'm pretty bad with directions…"
Cynthia was furious. "Ethan, if you'd told me you were bad with directions, I wouldn't have let you lead! We've been walking for almost an hour, and you only mention this now?"
"I'm sorry," Ethan said stiffly, remaining cold.
Cynthia couldn't contain her anger. "What's the use of saying sorry? Why do you act cool all the time? Can you even see the road clearly with those sunglasses?"
Cynthia hated pretense. After time with Ethan, the famous movie king, she was sure he was always pretending. Sunglasses were fine on a hot beach, but not in a dark forest. He always acted superior, making her feel unable to talk to him. She was starving, and he, clearly directionally challenged, kept leading them astray. She was furious.
Ethan was stunned, muttered another apology, turned, and removed his sunglasses. He walked to a large banyan tree and stood facing it. Cynthia noticed his shoulders trembling slightly.
She sensed something was wrong and rushed to him. She saw tears on his face, his eyes red from crying multiple times.
Cynthia was shocked to see his sophisticated face with deep, tear-filled eyes. Ethan, about six feet tall, was crying under the tree. "Ethan, why are you crying?"
Her question only made his tears flow more.
