Chapter 152
This was an unexplored virgin forest, with fast-flowing currents. A waterfall cascaded into a deep pool, which in turn fed a narrow stream—only about fifteen feet wide—of crystal-clear water. However, the current was swift, and the water was deep, almost waist-high.
"If someone slipped in," Cynthia said, "they might not be able to get out."
"Who said I was going in?" she added, straightening up. "Ethan, how many outfits did you bring this time?"
Ethan, puzzled by the question, answered truthfully, "The agent said we'd be shooting for seven days, so I brought seven outfits."
Cynthia nodded. "That's quite a few. Take off your shirt."
Ethan looked surprised, instinctively crossing his arms. "W-why should I?"
Cynthia noticed his shyness. She considered a shirtless man in summer perfectly acceptable, and a hint of impatience flickered in her eyes. "Do you still want lunch or not? Take your shirt off, and you'll understand."
The live stream viewers erupted.
[Oh my gosh. Cynthia, you are great!] [Take it off! Take it off! Take it off!] [Doesn't Cynthia know Ethan is conservative? He's never shown his body in movies. I've been a fan for ten years and still don't know if he's in shape.] [That's true. Ethan's acting is so good we ignored his physique. I'm taking a good look today!] [Cynthia knows what the audience wants. I bet Ethan won't take it off.]
But the viewers were shocked. Ethan, looking awkward and shy, removed his polo shirt. Then, to everyone's surprise, he handed two shirts to Cynthia. The viewers went wild.
[Ahhhh! What's going on?] [Mr. Bennett took his shirt off too, and faster than Ethan!] [Mr. Bennett's skin is so fair.] [Mr. Bennett's body is amazing! V-taper, eight-pack so hot!] [Ethan's not bad either. He's got a model's build.] [Oh my gosh, I'm so excited! And we get to see this for free?] [Cynthia, you're amazing! I really appreciate you.] [After all my years of doing good things, this is my reward!] [I'm telling my bestie to watch this!] [Holy shit. I must have saved the galaxy in a previous life!]
The viewers' excitement surged. The number of viewers quickly surpassed 10 million, and Jonathan and Ethan's shirtless appearance instantly became a top trending topic.
Cynthia looked at the shirtless Jonathan, her eyebrows furrowing. "What are you doing?"
Jonathan replied, "Aren't you planning to make a fishing net? One piece of clothing isn't enough, right?"
Cynthia was speechless. He was right; more clothes meant more fishing net. She took Jonathan's shirt, used a sharp rock to tear it into strips, and quickly wove a simple net.
Next, she found a calm, shallow area of the stream. She weighted the net with stones and used branches to secure it, creating a rudimentary trap. It wasn't efficient—no bait, small net—but the stream teemed with fish and shrimp. Within ten minutes, the net was full.
Cynthia climbed onto a rock, removed the branches, and gathered the net. Jonathan and Ethan watched from the shore, shirtless. They weren't unwilling to help; Cynthia was simply too skilled.
[Cynthia, what are you doing with that attractive face, sticking your butt out like that?] [It's my first time seeing a woman so charming and wild.] [Without Cynthia, they'll starve.] [A woman fishing in the forest to feed two naked men? Headline news!] [Hey, you can report this to the news department tomorrow!]
Cynthia smoothly hopped across rocks to the shore. Jonathan frowned. "Why are you acting like a monkey?"
He was worried, but remembered her climbing a hundred-foot tree at age five. He'd always thought she'd be a tomboy. He'd almost mistaken Naomi for her when he first saw them together. She looked delicate, but possessed a wild, free spirit.
Cynthia glanced at Jonathan and said bluntly, "You're such a wimp."
The live stream viewers were thrilled.
[Yeah! When Mr. Bennett took off his clothes, I could feel something going on between them.] [Mr. Bennett got rejected, and his face turned dark.] [It looks like Ethan's about to cry again. Cynthia, maybe you should stop scolding him.]
Cynthia left Jonathan, then saw Ethan's red eyes and sad expression.
She quickly reassured him. "Ethan, I wasn't talking about you. You're really important. If you hadn't taken the wrong path, we wouldn't have found water or this stream, right?"
Ethan's eyes reddened further. Cynthia continued comforting him. "Even though you're bad with directions, lack life skills, and are a bit sensitive, it doesn't mean you're useless. Your main role is our style icon."
Seeing tears welling, Cynthia had an idea. She handed him the net. "Ethan, could you carry this for me? It's too heavy."
Ethan finally stopped crying, smiling happily. "Thank you, Cynthia."
Jonathan walked over, saying coldly, "You have quite the knack for comforting people."
Cynthia replied indifferently, "And you have quite a talent for being annoying."
