Upon hearing this, Jonathan frowned and asked, "What did you say?"

Nina immediately pulled open her collar. "Mr. Bennett, aren't these marks from you?" Tears welled in her eyes. "You were drunk. I won't blame you or force you to take responsibility, but you can't just trample on me."

Jonathan noticed the red marks on her neck. He glanced at them, then looked away. He finally understood.

He said calmly, "Last night, it was Alex, not me."

Nina's expression changed dramatically. Disbelief filled her eyes. After a long silence, she asked in a trembling voice, "Mr. Bennett, what did you say?"

Last night, Jonathan had felt reluctant. Now, he was calm. "Alex works for Whitney. From the beginning, the plan was for her to get close to you."

He looked at her, sighed deeply, and said, "Last night, Cynthia saved you. She arrived just in time, so Alex didn't cause you any irreversible harm."

Nina understood but couldn't accept it. Her body was covered in kiss marks, even in private areas. She couldn't accept that anyone other than Jonathan had marked her. She collapsed to the ground, shaking violently.

"How could this happen? Why did it have to be this way?" she cried, covering her face.

The noise drew Jessie from the next room. Confused, she approached. Preston quickly followed, but he wasn't concerned about Nina's distress. Instead, he told Jonathan, "Mr. Bennett, Cynthia is missing."

Jonathan turned sharply. "She's missing? What do you mean? Didn't I tell you to stay with her?"

He understood that having Cynthia with Preston was safest. He wasn't sure what Whitney might do.

Preston looked anxious. "Cynthia said she was going to the restroom, but I've been waiting outside for ages and haven't seen her. Instead, I found this in the hallway."

Preston held up a necklaceโ€”Cynthia's four-leaf clover necklace.

Jonathan felt his temples throb and his breathing quicken. He feared something had happened to Cynthia.

He ran to the door, saying to Jessie, "Keep an eye on Nina; don't let her do anything rash." He left the room, Preston following. Jessie, seeing Nina's distress, knew something serious had occurred.

Preston, noticing Jonathan's expression, felt uneasy. Jonathan asked, "How long has she been missing?"

Preston replied, "About half an hour."

Jonathan was furious. "Why did it take you half an hour to tell me she was missing?"

Preston was puzzled. "Maybe she just got lost. Jonathan, why are you so worried?"

Preston thought Cynthia had merely gotten lost in the large building. Jonathan didn't know how to explain his unease.

He found the butler and asked, "Where's Cynthia now?"

The old butler smiled gently. "I haven't seen Ms. Jones."

Jonathan grabbed the butler's collar. "Let me ask you again, where are you hiding her?"

"I really don't know," the butler replied, his smile unchanged. This lack of panic was unsettling. "What about Whitney?" Jonathan suspected Whitney's involvement.

"I have no idea where she is, either," the butler said.

Jonathan realized he'd get nothing from the butler, but he noticed the butler holding a car key. Jonathan snatched the key and rushed outside, Preston following. He found the car, and Preston got in.

Preston knew Jonathan well. Something significant must have happened.

"Jonathan, you don't need to worry so much. My mother would never hurt Cynthia."

Jonathan had previously warned Preston about getting close to Cynthia, saying Whitney might endanger her. Preston hadn't taken it seriously. He believed his mother, though strict, loved him.

Jonathan's voice was cold. "So you better hope your mother hasn't taken action yet."

"Jonathan, you misunderstand my mother. She's your sister."

Jonathan remained silent. The car sped down the road.

He thought of the island's map and remembered a large theater. His sister was obsessed with drama, particularly "Hamlet," which she'd performed extensively since childhood. Arthur, their father, had eventually banned her performances at home, but her obsession continued. Jonathan had only recently learned the extent of this obsession.

Everyone thought she'd gotten better, but her obsession had intensified. She supported numerous actors and built stages to continue her "Hamlet" performances. Jonathan learned this from Claude, who'd obtained the information from John while investigating Alex.

The theater was far away, requiring a drive along a winding mountain road. Finally, they arrived at a grand theater resembling a birdcage.

As soon as the car stopped, Jonathan rushed inside. He saw Whitney and Cynthia just leaving.
