Chapter 262

Meanwhile, Keith was on the phone. “Baby, I miss you too. Don’t worry, I haven’t told my parents about us yet. Did you tell your brother? If he finds out we’re dating, he might kill me.”

“Baby, it would be great if you were here with me now. I miss your sweet scent.”

“How am I being a flirt? We’ve been dating for three years, and I’m still a virgin. When do you plan to finally make me yours?”

“Okay, okay, don’t be mad. Joy, why did you hang up on me again?” Keith asked.

Harvey was in Hector’s room playing video games while Hector stood on the second-floor balcony. His gaze wandered through the lush trees to the house next door. The lights shone brightly, and he could faintly hear loud music, suggesting a lively atmosphere. Hector suddenly felt like going over.

He thought, ‘Maybe I could just go over and wish Naomi a happy birthday, then come back.’ Just as he was planning to go downstairs, he noticed a black Mercedes van pulling into the villa’s driveway. It seemed Sam’s guests had arrived. A hint of disappointment flickered in Hector’s eyes, but he returned to the room and called out to Harvey, “Come on, the guests are here.”

Hector was the first to head downstairs to greet the guests. As he descended, he saw the butler leading three people inside. They appeared to be a family, but something about them made him furrow his brow. He was very familiar with these three people: they were Cynthia’s foster parents. Although he had never interacted with them directly, he knew quite a bit about them because he is Cynthia’s therapist. Cynthia’s psychological issues and inner demons stemmed from these three: Justin’s cold ambition, Selena’s favoritism, and Shirley’s selfishness and foolishness. He couldn’t understand why his father was hosting a dinner for their family. He frowned and walked over.

As soon as Justin walked in, he saw Hector. Impressed by Hector’s striking looks, he quickly complimented, “Which of Mr. Xenos’s sons is this? So handsome—definitely someone meant for greatness.”

Hector showed no emotion as he shook hands with Justin. “I’m Hector, the third son of the Xenos family. Nice to meet you, Mr. Jones.”

Shirley looked at Hector’s face and thought, ‘So handsome!’ He had a cool and sophisticated vibe, especially with those gold-rimmed glasses that highlighted his outstanding aura. She was dressed in a stylish, high-end outfit straight from the latest Pillere show. She openly looked him up and down, then stepped forward, extended her hand, and smiled, “I’m Shirley. It’s nice to meet you for the first time.”

If it were someone unrelated, Hector wouldn’t have found her greeting problematic. But he knew who she was and what she had done to Cynthia. He looked at her outstretched hand and didn’t move. Without acknowledging her, he directly addressed Justin, “My father is waiting for you in the study. Please go there first.”

Shirley was momentarily stunned. She hadn’t expected such dismissal at their first meeting. Her smile stiffened, and she awkwardly withdrew her hand.

At that moment, the other three Xenos brothers gradually came down from the second floor. Initially, she was still upset about being snubbed by Hector, but when she saw the other three, she stood there stunned, nearly forgetting to breathe. Each was extraordinarily handsome. Especially the man leading, in a suit, who looked like the perfect embodiment of a man in a suit.

The three men walked over unhurriedly and introduced themselves politely. Shirley finally recognized them. The man in the suit was Levi, the eldest Xenos son. He was about to become the regional head of Betrico, meaning he was a man of boundless potential and future influence. He was polite and respectful, formal and appropriate, with a natural air of authority that commanded respect without anger. Combined with his handsome face, it made him seem both aloof and irresistibly attractive. Shirley liked this type of man.

The second son was friendlier than the eldest, always smiling, but there was still an inherent distance in his grin. His gaze, while gentlemanly and elegant, held a clever, fox-like sharpness. Shirley didn’t like this. The other man was Hector’s twin; they had the same face but completely different vibes. He came across as relaxed, easygoing, and unpretentious. Though very handsome and a major star at Starlight Cinema, Shirley still preferred Levi.

Shirley openly gazed at Levi, but remembering the earlier snub, she remained silent, staring intently. Levi glanced at her and frowned, “Does Ms. Jones have a problem with her eyes?” Shirley was taken aback and nervously touched her eyes, “Is there something wrong with my eyes?”

Levi said coolly, “It seems Ms. Jones forgot how to blink.” The people around them chuckled.

“Ms. Jones, the way you’re staring at Levi… could it be that you like him?” Shirley’s face turned awkward, especially since she noticed a hint of teasing on everyone’s faces.

“What nonsense are you guys talking about?” Shirley huffed in frustration, her face turning red with anger and embarrassment. Justin glared sharply at Shirley.

Keith said, “Please, follow me. The study is on the second floor.” The three headed upstairs, but the four Xenos brothers didn’t accompany them.

Halfway up the stairs, Justin glared at Shirley again. “You need to behave yourself.” Shirley grumbled, “I didn’t do anything wrong. They’re the ones being rude.”

“You’re a girl, staring at people so boldly, without any restraint,” Justin said.

“What’s the use of restraint, Dad? You’re a man; you should know that men like women who are bold and daring like me. Levi might already secretly have feelings for me,” Shirley said.

Seeing Shirley lost in her fantasies, Selena said nothing more. She had a gut feeling that something unexpected was going to happen that night.

Soon, they arrived at the Xenos family study. The butler opened the door and led them inside. “Sir, the guests have arrived.”

Sam was in the room, writing calligraphy at his desk. Upon seeing them, he put down his brush and got up to greet them. He walked up to Justin. “Mr. Jones, it’s been a long time.”

Justin warmly shook his hand. “Mr. Xenos, it’s rare that you still remember me. Being able to meet you again today is truly a great honor.”

Sam didn’t spend much time on small talk. He glanced at Selena and Shirley. Justin quickly introduced them, “This is my wife, Selena, and this is my daughter, Shirley.”

Selena greeted Sam politely. After exchanging a few pleasantries, Sam’s attention turned to Shirley. He looked her up and down and then said to Justin, “Is this the baby from back then?”
