Chapter 328

โ€œYes, I found them. Ms. Wilsonโ€ฆ are you sure this wonโ€™t be traced back to me?โ€ Lilia fiddled with her hands nervously.

Carmen gave a scornful laugh. โ€œWell, that will depend on whether the fellows you found are any good, wonโ€™t it?โ€

Liliaโ€™s face blanched.

Carmen watched Liliaโ€™s discomfit with relish before a strong sense of disgust overcame her. She couldnโ€™t understand how people like Lilia had the gall to entertain such vain hopes. Simply remembering why Lilia was so eager to obey her made Carmenโ€™s stomach churn.

โ€œWhat about what you promised me beforeโ€ฆ?โ€ Lilia asked tentatively.

โ€œOnce I have succeeded with Alvin, getting you into the Turner Group will be a piece of cake, wonโ€™t it?โ€

Liliaโ€™s eyes sparkled with a twinkle of hope.

Carmen then shooed Lilia away rudely and hummed a cheerful tune as she sauntered toward the cafeteria.

Aubree was having lunch in the cafeteria. The Rithol Universityโ€™s cafeteria was surprisingly good. Some dishes were tastier than those found in outside eateries, and the prices were affordable. Aubree actually quite enjoyed eating in the cafeteria.

During peak lunch hour, the cafeteria was bustling with students. When a group of three or four guys walked in, no one took any notice of them. However, what made them stand out was that they did not proceed to buy food. They seemed to be looking for someone.

Not surprisingly, their behavior caught Aubreeโ€™s attention. The moment they saw Aubree, they came and sat right next to her, eyeing her menacingly. Aubree couldnโ€™t ignore them even if she wanted to.

โ€˜Troublemakers?โ€™ Aubree thought as she ate her meal unhurriedly. From the corner of her eye, she could tell they were undergrads too. They all had different physiques and did not seem to have undergone any formal combat training.

Aubree thought to herself, โ€œThis should be easy.โ€

However, they seemed to be undergrads. Aubree herself was almost an absentee student, so who could be holding a grudge against her?

Aubree still hadnโ€™t figured it out when she finished her meal and returned her tray. When she left the cafeteria, that group also followed her. There were too many people in the cafeteria, which would explain why they didnโ€™t take action back then.

As soon as Aubree turned a corner near the entrance, that group of undergrads blocked her way. One of them demanded, โ€œYouโ€™re Aubree Miller, arenโ€™t you?โ€

Aubree looked at them quizzically. โ€œYes?โ€

They were just a bunch of undergrads after all. Their personalities were a little obnoxious, but they hadnโ€™t even stepped into society yet. Aubree, on the other hand, had lived two lives and now rubbed shoulders with industry titans. She was no longer the pushover in her previous life.

By contrast, this group of boys was nowhere as confident as Aubree.

The group exchanged glances before acting all bravado. One of them sneered, โ€œWith all the things youโ€™ve done, you probably donโ€™t even know who youโ€™ve pissed off, do you?โ€

โ€œOh? So what are you gonna do?โ€

โ€œWhat do you think weโ€™re gonna do? Weโ€™re here to teach you a lesson!โ€ One of them finally mustered sufficient courage to raise his hand threateningly.

Aubree almost burst out laughing as she wondered who sent these jokers. Their bunched-up fists were practically trembling. At this point, she wasnโ€™t going to cut these clowns any slack. She instantly lashed out with a vicious kick, which sent one of them sprawling to the ground.

That first victim still looked incredulous at being floored by a mere girl as he lay there.

Aubree had kept up her training and was no longer the frail, pitiful girl who first left the Wilson family. Even trained fighters might struggle to overpower her, let alone these wimps.

Aubree generously gave the rest a demonstration of shoulder throws as they charged at her. They all ended up writhing on the ground. They werenโ€™t expecting Aubree to be so formidable!

โ€œAre you guys students of Rithol University?โ€ Aubree asked icily.

No one answered Aubree.

The commotion was considerable, and soon a crowd of curious onlookers had gathered around them.

โ€œAubree! What happened? Are you hurt?โ€ Carmenโ€™s voice suddenly rang out. She appeared from nowhere with the campus security guards in tow.

In the end, she was flummoxed. Why wasnโ€™t Aubree the one lying on the ground?
