Chapter 107 The Media Game
At least it could shut a lot of people up. This was the best way to salvage the situation and protect the Jenson Group. Dominic had a few trending posts about Tilda lined up to distract everyone. Some painted her in a good light, others in a bad one.
Nothing could be too obviousโanyone paying attention would spot that the Jenson Group was buying trends to smear him. The plan was simple: slowly pull the Jensons out of the spotlight.
Tilda would take the fall and become the center of discussion. Supporters or haters, as long as the paid accounts kept stirring the waters, the Jensons and the company wouldnโt be targeted. Tilda would. Supporters stayed calm. Haters went all out. Everything became polarized.
โDominic, it should be enough now,โ Howard said, watching the plan unfold. โItโs strangeโฆโ
Dominicโs brow furrowed slightly. Something felt off. Howardโs chest tightened. โWhat is it, Dominic?โ
โDonโt let your guard down. Itโs too quietโฆ feels like itโs going a little too smoothly.โ Dominic pressed his lips together, a cold glint in his eyes.
It didnโt matter what hidden identities Tilda had. How could Andy not have anticipated this? Since Andy had decided to back Tilda in the lawsuit, heโd naturally prepared for every possible consequence. Not to mention the emergency press conference that afternoon. With Andyโs connections and influence, there was no way he wouldnโt have made a move.
โMr. Dominic! The trending posts we just bought about Tilda suddenly exploded! The trends dropped, all entries disappeared, and every major marketing accountโs comments vanished! Mass deletion!โ
Just as expected. Dominic made a snap decision. โFigures. Keep instructing the paid accounts and marketing handles to post. Boost their weight. Get the trends back up!โ
The PR team at the Jenson Group were all sharp operatorsโcarefully selected by Dominic and recruited at high cost. In this age of information and the internet, public opinion could easily make or break a company. Dominicโs strategic investments had proven their worth. In just a few years, this PR team had saved the companyโs reputation multiple times, crushing anyone who tried to throw dirt at the Jensons.
โYes, sir!โ
But after a short while, the reports came in.
โOh no, Mr. Dominic! They clearly came prepared. Too many accounts!โ
โMore marketing handles are now steering the narrative against Mr. Jenson!โ
โThis isnโt something one person could pull off.โ
โAt least several rival groups are involved.โ
โWe traced one IP backโitโs from Cellcomm Corp, one of our competitors!โ
โThey actually dared to make this moveโฆโ Dominicโs expression darkened like a storm rolling in.
No wonder Tilda hadnโt made a move. Sheโd gone straight to the Jenson Groupโs rivals. And she hadnโt waited until this afternoonโthis had been set up before the lawsuit even started. She and Andy had just been waiting for me to strike so they could counter.
So Tilda had planned this all along. She knew the Jenson Group would play the media game.
Howard watched helplessly as their data bled out. Their paid accounts? Useless. PR team? Already overrun. โDominic, what do we do now?โ he asked, panic rising.
โStay calm,โ Dominic said. โUse everything weโve got. Thatโs all we can do. At the end of the day, this is small. Weโve apologized. They canโt blow it upโwhat else could happen?โ
Tildaโs move was bold but still manageable. The press conference had already taken place. Russell and Wade had explained the situation and apologized. Even if the rivals attacked now, it was just a misunderstanding. Clear the misunderstanding, and nothing would escalate into a storm. No laws had been broken.
โDamn, Tilda! She actually did this! Teamed up with our enemies? Does she even remember sheโs family? Jenson blood runs in her veins! Backstabbing the familyโฆ whatโs in it for her?!โ
Howard ground his teeth. If Tilda were in front of him, heโd punch her so hard her smug little face wouldnโt survive. Suing Russell, humiliating him, humiliating the familyโhe could barely stand it. But dragging outsiders into itโฆ that, he couldnโt forgive.
Tilda had turned enemies against her own family.
