Chapter 453 The Sister in the Fire

โ€œI remember.โ€

At first, Darell thought Silvaโ€™s words were nothing more than flattery. A man who lived and breathed science would never believe in ghosts or superstition. If it werenโ€™t for the role he was playing in this movie, he never would have had any reason to talk to Silva at all. But now, even Darell couldnโ€™t explain what was happening.

โ€œSince the beginning of time, there have been countless things humans canโ€™t explain,โ€ Silva said. โ€œToday, with over six billion people in the world, itโ€™s no surprise that some are born with very unusual abilities. And tell meโ€“when scientists talk about things like parallel worlds, rebirth, or traveling through time, does that sound so impossible to you?โ€

Darell almost let out a laugh. If this were the old him, he never would have sat here listening seriously to words he once dismissed as nonsense.

โ€œSure,โ€ he said, โ€œscience canโ€™t explain everything. But if people like that really exist, why doesnโ€™t anyone know about them?โ€

โ€œLet me put it another way,โ€ Silva said. โ€œEinstein proved that if someone could move faster than the speed of light, they might actually run into their pastโ€“or even futureโ€“self. Thatโ€™s a theory from one of the greatest scientists in history. Not a lie, right? And the universe is huge. Do you really think Earth is the only place with life? Are you sure black holes only swallow everything and donโ€™t send it somewhere else?"

โ€œAnd think about the ocean. The deepest point humans have reached is about 36,000 feet. But thatโ€™s still far from the bottom. Can you swear there arenโ€™t mermaids or underwater kingdoms hidden down there?โ€

Darell was silent. He had no words.

โ€œAnyway,โ€ Silva went on, โ€œmy point is that there are many things science canโ€™t explain. So many parts of the world humans havenโ€™t touched yet. Donโ€™t be too quick to deny it. Suppose, Mr. Jenson, youโ€™re special. When your abilities awaken, you might be able to do things no one else can. That strange dream of yoursโ€“it could be a vision of the future, or maybe a glimpse of a parallel world, or even a memory from another life.โ€

โ€œA dream of the future,โ€ Darell muttered, repeating the words. If that dream really was about the future, would his family kill Tilda? Would they stand by and watch her burn? No. Impossible.

No matter how much the Jensons disliked Tilda, no matter how much they spoiled Kyla, they would never kill one of their own. Their sister. It could never be a dream of the future. No matter how much Darell doubted it, one thing didnโ€™t make sense. Tilda was just a student who had been missing for nineteen years. What reason would anyone have to kill her?

โ€œYou can think of me as someone who talks too much,โ€ Silva said calmly. โ€œFor now, thatโ€™s all I can explain to you, Mr. Jenson.โ€ She tilted her head. โ€œIf you feel a little better, then letโ€™s rememberโ€“the director and the others are waiting. No matter what happens, we still have to do the job in front of us, donโ€™t we?โ€

Darell pressed his lips together. After a pause, he stood, copied Silvaโ€™s Nomariโ€“style bow, and said, โ€œThank you, Ms. Silva. Your words helped me a lot. Before this, I thought you were just another fraud. I owe you an apology. Once we finish todayโ€™s shooting, dinnerโ€™s on me.โ€

Silva smiled faintly. โ€œThen Iโ€™ll gladly accept.โ€

Darell drew a deep breath and turned toward the director. Whatever this dream meant, Silva was right about something. No matter what, he must finish the work in front of him. That was the most important thing.

His next round of acting went better than anyone expected. The director finally called, โ€œCut!โ€ Darell let out a long breath and stepped out of the role completely.

โ€œMr. Jenson, that was incredible! So much more powerful than beforeโ€“so much emotion!โ€ The director clapped his hands in excitement. โ€œNow I finally understand what youโ€™ve been pushing for.โ€

Darell spoke in his usual calm tone. โ€œThanks for sticking with me today. Cindy, ask everyone what they want to eat and order it all.โ€

โ€œOkayโ€“dokey!โ€ Cindy nearly burst with excitement. Finally! My goodness, this is done at last. Now I can report back to the company without worries. The winter holiday was only a month away, and the schedule was already too tight. If they couldnโ€™t finish today, the companyโ€™s plans would be thrown into chaos.

Afterward, Darell walked straight over to Silva. She was holding her phone, staring at the screen, lost in thought.

โ€œThank you again, Ms. Silva.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re welcome,โ€ she said with a small smile. โ€œAs youโ€™d say here in Cetherland, it was nothing at all.โ€ She hesitated for a moment, then added, โ€œThereโ€™s something you should know. Just now, at the movie town, I ran into Tilda.โ€

Darellโ€™s heart jolted. โ€œTildaโ€ฆYou mean my sister?โ€ She was here?
