Chapter 462 The Tail in the Rearview
Theo saw two beautiful girls together. Well, it was kind of nice to look at.
Just then, out of the corner of her eye, Tilda caught a reflection in the carโs rearview mirror.
Her heart sank.
That carโฆ Had it been following us the whole time?
She remembered the plate number clearly: JA0983E8.
Ever since they left the hotel, the car had been trailing behind.
Tildaโs instincts, sharpened by years as Queen of the Dark Web, screamed danger.
Even if there was no proof, even if it was just a hunch, anything that felt like a threat had to be cut off at the root.
That was the rule to survive in the underground world.
When you had enemies everywhere, you didnโt gamble with your life.
She glanced at Una, who was smiling without a clue about the danger.
Pulling out her phone, Tilda sent Andy a quick text.
โAndy, Iโve got a problem. Check this plate number, JA0983E8.โ
The reply came fast.
โSomeone tailing you?โ
โI can feel it.โ
โGot it.โ
Andy had been her closest partner in the Dark Web for years.
Their trust and understanding ran so deep, a single word or look was enough.
It didnโt take Andy long to dig up the record.
โChevy. The car owner checks out normal.โ
Then another line followed. โBut if someone from the Dark Web is on you, theyโd have their car perfectly covered."
โTildaโฆ Donโt tell me youโve been exposed.โ
The thought chilled him.
Even the Queen herself would face ruin if her true identity leaked.
Tilda typed back calmly. โI checked. No sign my dataโs been cracked. So itโs not one of my rivals on the Web.โ
That possibility crossed off, she frowned.
โThen who could it be?โ
โLeaving the Dark Web aside, there are plenty of people in the real world whoโd like to see me dead. The only question isโwho? The Bells? Or the Jensons?โ
The people Tilda had offended mainly came from these two powerful families.
Both had the money and connections to hire killers, track her down, and erase every trace of her existence.
โDo you have a plan?โ she asked.
โIโve got an idea, but Iโll need your help, Andy.โ
โYou donโt need to ask. Just tell me what you need. Iโll listen.โ
โAlright.โ
Tilda acted as if she didnโt know someone was following her.
She brought Una and Andy to the meeting spot.
โTilda, Una.โ Andy waved, a backpack in hand.
โHere. Everything you asked me to prepare is ready.โ
He gave Tilda a quick look, then handed her the bag.
โThanks, Andy.โ
โWhatโs in there?โ Una asked curiously.
Tilda grinned. โSurprise. Canโt tell you yet.โ
Una just sighed.
Once again, she was the only one left out of the secret.
That day, the three of them went to the biggest amusement park in Jeselton.
They laughed, played, and tried to forget themselves in the fun.
But Tilda never stopped checking the shadow trailing behind them.
One glance at Andy, and they exchanged an unspoken signal.
Suddenly, Tilda clutched her stomach and frowned uneasily. โI donโt feel good. I need the restroom.โ
โTilda, was it something we ate for lunch? Andy and I are fine, though.โ Unaโs face filled with concern.
โDo you need to see a doctor?โ
Una had no idea what Tilda was planning. She only looked at her with concern.
โNature calls, Una. Why donโt you and Andy go thank the park manager? He gave us these tickets. Itโs polite to show some gratitude.โ
โBut Tilda-โ
โYou two go. I might be a while. Iโll find you when Iโm done.โ
Since Tilda wouldnโt change her mind, Una finally gave up and left with Andy.
The moment they were gone, Tilda rushed into the nearest womenโs restroom.
The man tailing her hesitated. As a man, walking into the ladiesโ room would draw too much attention. If Tilda caught on, the whole plan would backfire. So he waited outside.
Inside, Tilda made sure he hadnโt followed.
She slipped into an empty stall, locked the door, and opened Andyโs backpack. In seconds, she pulled out the gear: a wig, makeup, a change of clothesโeverything she needed.
After finishing her disguise, Tilda moved quickly. She swung herself up and climbed out through the vent window above the womenโs restroom.
The reason she had chosen this restroom and faked a stomachache was simpleโshe had studied the park map earlier. She knew the vent here was just wide enough for her body to slip through.
Circling around, she came back to the front of the restroom.
Now, in full disguise, even Una wouldnโt recognize her. Tilda looked like a completely different person.
