Chapter 568 New Mission

The base looked like something straight out of a high-tech movieโ€”rows of supercomputers, glowing screens full of code, and constant surveillance feeds.

Jarrett and the others couldnโ€™t wait to explore. No matter how solid their own setup was, it could never match what an entire country could build with unlimited cash and resources. That was the most powerful supercomputer in all of Cetherland!

โ€œAlright, bro, show the newbies around. Get them used to the place and their new offices. I need a private word with Tilda. Iโ€™m dumping the tough job on you.โ€

Wesley said nothing. He just walked up to Jarrett and the others and muttered, โ€œLetโ€™s go.โ€

โ€œOhโ€ฆ sure.โ€

Wow, this guy truly doesnโ€™t waste words.

After they left, Benedict grabbed a cold coffee and handed it to Tilda. โ€œWant one?โ€

โ€œYeah.โ€ She took it, cracked it open, had a sip, and looked around. โ€œNot many people here, huh?โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s out of my control. Not everyone is a genius like you. When I started running this place, it was just me and two people. It took a lot of work to even add five more. This database covers all of Cetherland and connects worldwide. It even stores stuff that some advanced countries like Lucien donโ€™t have. Only rare talent gets in, and they all go through loyalty checks. Jeselton HQ is lucky to have five people. Other branches survive with only two.โ€

Tilda chuckled. โ€œI can tell those five who welcomed us earlier have some attitude.โ€ They probably showed up because Benedict made them. They werenโ€™t exactly happy about newbies dropping in out of nowhere. With Tildaโ€™s sharp eyes, she definitely caught their stares.

โ€œNobody here gets a free ride. If you want respect, youโ€™ll have to earn it. With Comet Squadโ€™s skills, climbing the ranks wonโ€™t be tough as long as you put in the effort. And hey, the fact that all five of you showed up together is a big help! Other branches keep whining that they donโ€™t have enough people and canโ€™t keep up. If you guys pull through, I can send more folks their way.โ€

โ€œSince youโ€™re counting on us, weโ€™ll make sure not to disappoint.โ€

After a brief chat, Jarrett and the others came back.

โ€œWhoa, Tilda, I gotta sayโ€”the setup here crushes our base.โ€

โ€œSeriously. I thought our internet speed and response time were solid, but this place is like ten times faster!โ€

Benedict said, โ€œEven if your base has money behind it, thatโ€™s still just private stuff. This is Jeselton, the center of Cetherlandโ€™s network tech. The government pumps way more into this place than youโ€™d believe. So, what do you think? Your office is ready whenever. You could move in today. Itโ€™s super handy, though traveling back to Slosa might be a drag.โ€ He sounded like a villain trying to lure kids with candy. He sure knew how to talk.

Honestly, the gear here was unbeatable. Jarrett and the others couldnโ€™t help feeling tempted. They instinctively glanced at Tilda.

She shrugged. โ€œNot for me. Even if Iโ€™m not here, I can still give remote support. You all decide what you want.โ€ Tildaโ€™s vision for the future wasnโ€™t tied down to just this place. Being stuck here felt limiting. As long as she had access, she could grab whatever leads and information she needed.

โ€œNo need to rush. Take your time. First, get used to how these systems run.โ€

โ€œAlright.โ€

Three hours slipped by fast. Tilda and her squad already had a solid grasp on the new features.

Wesley walked up. โ€œAll set? A new mission just came in.โ€

Tilda raised an eyebrow. โ€œWhat is it?โ€

โ€œThe details are uploaded to your computers from the main database. If you think youโ€™re ready, head back to your office. The best way to learn is to jump in. Weโ€™re seriously short on people. Since you signed those agreements, itโ€™s time to deliver.โ€

With that, Wesley left again.

โ€œDoes Mr. Wesley only talk when heโ€™s tossing out missions?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™ll get used to it. So, want to take this on? Youโ€™ll score some points with this one.โ€

Tilda glanced at Jarrett and the rest. โ€œThink you can handle it?โ€

โ€œHell yeah!โ€

When Tilda and her team reached their office, the mission was already waiting on the server. After checking it, Jarrett blew up and swore, โ€œDamn! Who the hell runs this trash group?!โ€
