Chapter 57 Iโ€™m Not Suicidal

Kyla realized she had โ€œslipped upโ€ and quickly lowered her head.

Howardโ€™s angry eyes immediately turned to Tilda.

โ€œTilda, what did you say to Kyla?! If you dare hurt her, I swear Iโ€™ll tear you apart!โ€

โ€œHaha!โ€ Tilda laughed, even clapping her hands. The smirk on her lips was sharp and mocking.

โ€œWhat a show! You guys are like a full-on acting family. Itโ€™s seriously amazing. Forget running a companyโ€“you should all just join the showbiz. Winning an Oscar would be way too easy for you. Youโ€™re all so deep in your roles, itโ€™s actually funny.โ€

Why have I never noticed before that the Jensons have clown blood in them? They should open their own theme park, starring themselves as the clowns. Guaranteed best-selling amusement park in the world.

โ€œTilda! Even now, you donโ€™t feel guilty? Kyla got hurt because of you! She even took that slap for you and still defended you! Donโ€™t you feel anything in your heart? Why did I get cursed with such a terrible daughter? Youโ€™re not even worth a tiny fraction of Kylaโ€™s kindness and innocence! Youโ€™re so poisonous you even want to drag your own father into court! You wonโ€™t stop until youโ€™ve ruined the Jensonsโ€™ name, will you?!โ€

Russellโ€™s teeth clenched so hard that it looked like he wanted to strangle Tilda right then and there.

I should have stuck to my decision long ago and never let Tilda be born! If we didnโ€™t have seven sons and no daughters, we wouldnโ€™t have been so desperate for a girl. Iโ€™d been against Blairโ€™s late pregnancy from the start. If we wanted a daughter so badly, we should have just adopted. But she got pregnant anyway. She risked her life giving birth to Tilda, nearly dying. And then, right after she was born, the baby was stolen. Disappeared. Blair sank into deep depression, almost ending her own life. If I hadnโ€™t stayed by her side day and night and if Kyla hadnโ€™t appeared as some kind of comfort, who knew what might have happened. And after finally getting Tilda back, sheโ€™s like thisโ€”a curse, full of hatred and determined to destroy the Jensons. She has to be some punishment from above, Heavenโ€™s cruel payback to our family. Thatโ€™s the only way to explain such a disgrace.

If only we had adopted Kyla sooner, none of this would have happened.

โ€œWhat? Tilda, youโ€™re suing Dad? Whatโ€™s going on?โ€ This time, Kyla was truly shocked. She never imagined Tilda would actually dare to sue Russell, the powerful chairman of Jenson Group. It was like digging your own grave.

Tilda gave her a cold, cutting look. โ€œDidnโ€™t you hear him? Or are simple words too hard for you?โ€

โ€œTildaโ€ฆ wโ€“why has it come to this? It must be me. I must not have done enough for you. Thatโ€™s why youโ€™re angry. Iโ€™m so sorryโ€ฆโ€

Kylaโ€™s eyes filled instantly, tears pouring down like a flood the moment Tilda snapped at her.

โ€œTilda! Apologize to Kyla right now!โ€ Seeing his beloved sister cry, Howard exploded. His roar was so loud and fierce that it could make anyoneโ€™s heart tremble. Howard was hugeโ€“built like a WWE champion. His rough voice and explosive temper scared most girls into tears whenever he got mad. His rule had always been to never hit a woman. But this time, Tilda had crossed every line. His fists were itching.

Why isnโ€™t Tilda a man? If she were, I wouldโ€™ve beaten her into the ground already.

โ€œBefore you all kill me off, Iโ€™ve got something to show you.โ€ From the pocket of her coat, Tilda pulled out a phoneโ€”not just any phone. She casually pressed a button. The conversation sheโ€™d just had with Kyla played out, word for word.

Kylaโ€™s face went pale.

โ€œTilda, whatโ€ฆโ€

โ€œWhen dealing with trash like you, of course, I prepare. How could I not? It was too obviousโ€”you suddenly wanting a private chat? Of course, you had bad intentions. And Russell, Howardโ€”donโ€™t worry. I havenโ€™t even played the best part yet.โ€

When the recording reached the part where Tilda guessed that Kyla might have planned the whole trending scandal herself, Russellโ€™s face darkened.

โ€œTilda, what do you mean by this? Are you trying to slander Kyla?โ€

โ€œSlander? Me? How would I dare? Kyla is your precious gem, your little angel. Iโ€™m not suicidal. I call it logical reasoning. Dad and Russell, you said youโ€™d find out who framed me and made me the target. So? Itโ€™s been days, have you found the culprit yet?โ€

At those words, Kylaโ€™s heart skipped a beat.
