Chapter 679 Blair in Danger

Russell and Wade were holding an emergency meeting with the shareholders.

Suddenly, Russell felt his eyelid twitch uncontrollably. He suddenly had a bad feeling. It came out of nowhereโ€”sudden and intense.

He couldnโ€™t focus on the pressing issues facing the company. Just thenโ€ฆ the secretary rushed in with a phone in hand. โ€œMr. Jenson, itโ€™s urgent! Mrs. Jensonโ€”somethingโ€™s happened! You need to hear this!โ€

โ€œWhat?!โ€

Russellโ€™s heart nearly stopped at those words. Ignoring everything else, he snatched the phone. โ€œHello? What happened? What did you say?! Fine! Iโ€™m on my way!โ€

โ€œMr. Jenson, are you leaving now? But the meetingโ€”โ€

โ€œTo hell with the meeting! My wife had an accident! You deal with it yourselves!โ€

Russell roared in anger and dashed out of the conference room.

Wade came to his senses and ran after him. โ€œDad! Wait for me!โ€

Russell didnโ€™t stop. All he could think about was Blairโ€™s safety. He had just heard over the phone that Blair had suffered a severe head injury and was bleeding heavily.

Russell was screaming and praying in his mind. Blair! No! Donโ€™t let anything happen! Please donโ€™t let anything happen!

In the private hospital invested in by Jenson Group, Russell and Wade raced frantically through traffic, running red light after red light, to get to the hospital as fast as possible.

Seeing Blair lying in the ICU, receiving treatment from the doctors, Russellโ€™s eyes burned with rage.

โ€œWhat happened?! Why did this happen to Blair?! Why?!โ€

Justin and Kayden stood to the side, clenching their fists and blaming themselves. โ€œDad, weโ€™re so sorryโ€ฆ We were right there, but this still happened to Momโ€ฆโ€

Wade said anxiously, โ€œJustin, Kayden, what happened?! Tell us clearly so we can figure out how to fix this!โ€

โ€œItโ€™s all my fault, Dad, Wade. Mom wanted to use the toilet, so I took her there. She said she just needed to pee and didnโ€™t want me to hold her, saying it was embarrassing, and she told me to wait outside the doorโ€ฆ I was watching her use her crutches when she suddenly said she was dizzyโ€ฆ Before I could even react, she fell to the floorโ€ฆโ€ Kyla was already crying so hard she could barely speak.

โ€œDamn it!โ€

At this point, Russell couldnโ€™t bring himself to blame Kyla. He just punched the hallway wall, biting his lip so hard it was about to bleed. No wonder he felt so uneasy during the meeting, as if something was wrong. But he never thought it would be Blair again! Why?! God, what did we do to deserve this? Why does it have to be Blair who gets hurt? If anyoneโ€™s supposed to suffer, it should be me!

Kyla sobbed as she approached Russell. โ€œDad, Iโ€™m sorryโ€ฆ Itโ€™s all my faultโ€ฆ If I hadnโ€™t listened to Mom and had stayed there helping herโ€ฆ this never would have happenedโ€ฆ Itโ€™s all my faultโ€ฆ my faultโ€ฆ Dad, please hit me. Itโ€™ll make me feel a little betterโ€ฆโ€

โ€œYou!โ€

Seeing Kyla sobbing like that, Russell was so angry he wanted to slap her. All the old and new anger exploded at that moment! But just as he was about to hit her, the last bit of his sense stopped him.

In the end, he just sighed heavily. โ€œGo home, Kyla.โ€

โ€œDad, I want to stay here with Momโ€ฆโ€

โ€œGo home!โ€

Russell couldnโ€™t hold back and shouted at Kyla, which shocked everyone. Kyla looked up at Russellโ€™s eyes, which were red from anger and guilt. Tears streamed down her face. โ€œDadโ€ฆ Iโ€™m sorryโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll leave firstโ€ฆโ€

After saying that, Kyla ran away crying.

Justin hesitated for a moment, then walked over to Russellโ€™s side. He said sadly, โ€œDad, I know we canโ€™t go back to how things were with Kyla, butโ€ฆ I donโ€™t think she did this on purpose.โ€

โ€œI knowโ€ฆ I knowโ€ฆ But I canโ€™t control it. Because of Kyla, I lost Tilda, and now I have to watch Blair suffer like thisโ€ฆ I couldnโ€™t control myselfโ€ฆโ€ Russell felt all his strength drain away. His body went limp, and he collapsed to the floor, unable to stand, covered in a cold sweat.

โ€œItโ€™s going to be okay, Dad. Mom will be fine; good people are always blessed. This hospital has the best and most advanced equipment, and the best doctors are operating on her right now. Sheโ€™ll be okay.โ€ Wade was trying to comfort Russell, but he was also trying to comfort himself.

Right now, all they could do was pray. Pray that Blair would be okay. Because if anything happened to Blairโ€ฆ
