Chapter 73 Get Ready

Most people could only dream of being close friends with Andy, the undefeated top lawyer.

Alfie grinned and said meaningfully, โ€œLooks like the girl Judeโ€™s after is no ordinary person. Sheโ€™s also got the same Omega-type as him.โ€

The best part? He had a front-row seat to all the drama!

He finally felt better. Playing cards with Maurice had been mind-numbing, and he kept losing. The whole night had been nothing but frustration. Now? Watching Jude get jealous was way more entertaining.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime showโ€”top lawyer Andy against CEO Jude. That was exciting!

โ€œGet ready. Weโ€™re going to Nightingale Bar.โ€ Jude gave the command and walked straight out.

โ€œOn it!โ€ Alfie trotted along behind eagerly.

Mauriceโ€™s mouth twitched. He wanted to kick Alfie straight in the backside. Alfie truly didnโ€™t know fear. He could see Jude was jealous, but he still dared to poke fun. Heโ€™d only realize the consequences when Jude finally lost his patience.

At Nightingale Bar, Wade couldnโ€™t take his eyes off Tilda.

Clive leaned over and whispered, โ€œWade, do you think she even knows weโ€™re here?โ€ From what he could tell, Tilda hadnโ€™t looked in their direction once.

โ€œShe knows,โ€ Wade muttered, bitterness in his voice. โ€œShe just doesnโ€™t care anymore.โ€

He remembered the day Tilda first returned to Jenson Villa. Sheโ€™d been so timid, her eyes filled with longing. Sheโ€™d wanted to reach out, but she was too scared of breaking what little connection they had left. She had been so uneasy. And how did he respond? By pouring all his attention on Kyla right in front of her.

He didnโ€™t even want to imagine how much it hurt Tilda that day. Back then, she cared so much. Now, she didnโ€™t even spare him a glance. She was too busy laughing and chatting with Andy. It meant that she had stopped caring.

Clive said, โ€œSo thatโ€™s the legendary Andy, huh? Iโ€™ve only heard about him before. Heโ€™s the top lawyer. Nobody in Cetherlandโ€™s business world dares cross him. Even my family has to jump through hoops to meet him. And look at himโ€”heโ€™s seriously good-looking, with this unique charm nobody else has. No wonder people say he wins cases just because everyone in court gets distracted by his looks. Tilda managed to be close to him so easily, and they seem to get along well. Honestly, sheโ€™s been hiding her real side. Sheโ€™s nothing like the lost, helpless person you described.โ€

Clive was already putting it nicely. Wade had once described Tilda as useless, fragile, and not even close to Kylaโ€™s level. He never understood why Blair wanted Tilda back. They werenโ€™t even from the same world. That would only stir up awkwardness in the family and end up upsetting Wadeโ€™s favorite sister, Kyla.

Clive used to think Wade was being too harsh, but he never said a word. He was tight with Kyla as well, so he leaned toward her side. And since Wade was his friend, he figured the family mess wasnโ€™t his business. He just went along.

But now? It felt like heโ€™d been slapped across the face. His cheeks were burning. Weak and useless? Tilda was stronger than anyone thought.

Wade couldnโ€™t say a thing. For the first time, he realized he didnโ€™t truly know Tilda at all. Or maybe heโ€™d never even wanted to understand her or step into her world. All he ever cared about was forcing her out of Jenson Villa, making sure Kyla never found out Tildaโ€™s real identity so she wouldnโ€™t get hurt. Heโ€™d even wished Tilda would vanish forever.

But now, she was showing skills that left him stunned. She was claiming to sue Russellโ€”and she had Andy, the untouchable lawyer, backing her up.

Tilda, how much about you have I missed? Is it already too late for me to get to know you?

Just then, Andy caught Wade and Clive staring. He smirked, his eyes shining with mischief. As Tildaโ€™s lawyer, he had already memorized the Jensonsโ€™ faces.

On purpose, he said, โ€œTilda, about that case against Russell, weโ€™ll be getting results soon. Iโ€™m pretty sure the Jensons will be finished. Theyโ€™ll lose their reputation and see their stock price crash. What do you think? If you still care about your family, thereโ€™s still a way out.โ€

His voice blended with the hum of the bar, but it was loud enough for Wade to catch every word. His chest tightened, heart racing out of control. He wanted to hear her answer more than anything. But at the same time, he dreaded it.
