Chapter 76: They Have No Right
Even though he couldnโt undo the past, Wade still wanted to fix a few things, especially the lawsuit with the Jensons. Being a Jenson, he couldnโt just sit there after hearing what Tilda and Andy had said.
Suddenly, Tilda stood up, holding her wine glass. Wade thought maybe sheโd softened and wanted to settle things. He looked excited. โTildaโโ
But before he could speak, she splashed the drink straight onto his face. The whole bar went silent.
Tildaโs table was already in the spotlight, while Wade was the one who had approached her. Everyone knew Wade as a regular at Nightingale Bar and the ownerโs brotherโs best buddy. But heโd just had a drink thrown right in his face. Holy crap. That was a huge scene!
Wade didnโt see it coming. He just froze, staring at her. Cold liquid ran down his face, soaking his clothes. Humiliating stains spread over his shirt.
Andy whistled, clearly impressed by Tilda. Now that was the Tilda he knewโthe queen of the dark web!
โTsk, if Iโd been in heels tonight, Iโd have dumped the entire drink on your head. That wouldโve been way more fun,โ Tilda clicked her tongue. What a pity. She couldnโt go all the way and had to settle for just splashing the drink on Wadeโs face. The height difference meant she couldnโt dump the whole glass on him.
โTilda, are you insane?!โ Clive finally snapped, glaring at her.
โYou two are the crazy ones. Think I care about what you have to say? What a joke! Security! Someone is harassing me! Come over here!โ Tilda called out to the barโs security. Nightingale Bar didnโt disappoint. The moment she yelled, the staff rushed over. But when they saw Wade and Clive, they hesitated, unsure what to do.
โTilda, stop playing the victim! Youโre the one who threw the drink! Do you even realize how humiliating that is for him?โ Clive was fuming.
โHumiliating? Please. He knows exactly what heโs doing. Weโre done with each other, but he keeps coming after me! I treat him like he doesnโt exist, yet he keeps calling my name. Itโs gross! If that isnโt harassment, what is? Wade, youโre just shameless and pathetic. Donโt expect me to get along with you!โ Tilda didnโt hold back, her words cutting deep.
Still, it barely scratched the surface. This kind of humiliation and revenge was barely satisfying. It didnโt compare to everything Wade put her through in just 15 days. Who knew how much courage it had taken to chop off her beloved long hair? How painful that decision had been! Tilda still remembered her trembling hands and broken heart as she held the scissors.
At that time, Wade had said, โI hate long hair. Youโre ugly. Get lost.โ So, she cut her hair just to please him. But then, Wade turned and gently stroked Kylaโs long hair right in front of Tilda, looking all tender and loving. โKyla, your long hair is amazing. Unlike that ugly freak who tries to copy it, youโre the most beautiful.โ Tilda didnโt need a mirror to know how pale and crushed she looked. It felt like her heart was in a vice. She felt it was hard to breathe. Still, she forced a smile and said, โKylaโs hair is indeed beautiful.โ
How cruel was that?
Not to mention all the times she tried to be close to him. Heโd ignore her, freeze her out, make her cry. All of that happened in just 15 days. But in her previous life, Wadeโs cruelty lasted five years. Day after day, coldness piled up. Nobody could imagine what she endured. Compared to her suffering, Wadeโs current feelings were nothing. He wanted to compare pain to hers?
The Jensons had no right. None of them deserved it.
Andy watched, his green eyes full of amusement. Heโd worried Tilda might go easy on Russell or feel guilty about her family. Even if she talked tough, maybe sheโd hesitate if things got messy. But now, he realized heโd been overthinking. Tilda was deadly serious. The Jensons had made her furious. She wasnโt going to give them another chance or any mercy. Andy could finally act and get justice for her.
Clive was shaking with anger. Right now, only one thought ran through his mind.
