Chapter 104: The Corrupt Things

“Alice, what are you saying? Where did you learn this?” Valeria was shocked by her daughter’s words.

Alice pouted and looked at Valeria. “It’s what they always do in the TV shows! If someone saves your life, you repay them with your body. But I’m a girl, so I can’t do that. Hudson is my family; I always said family is one and the same, so isn’t it okay if Hudson repays with his body instead?”

Valeria was stunned by her daughter’s strange logic. Olivia was speechless. She suddenly realized how much Alice loved mimicking people from TV shows. And the things she learned were utterly bizarre.

“What kind of shows are you letting your sister watch? Is that really how repaying works?” Olivia glanced at Hudson.

Hudson silently wiped his mouth with a napkin. He could take the fall for this one.

Just as everyone was stunned by Alice’s words, the door to the private room suddenly opened. A tall, middle-aged man walked in. Olivia froze when she saw him.

“Uncle Mason!” As soon as Alice saw him, she ran over and hugged his leg.

“Alice, did you miss me?” Mason smiled gently as he picked her up. However, when he saw Olivia in the room, his face showed a hint of surprise. “Ms. Carter?”

“Uncle Mason, don’t you think if someone saves your life, you should repay them properly?” Alice looked at her beloved uncle, as if she had found an ally.

Mason’s expression was strange. He had heard that Alice nearly got kidnapped yesterday, and luckily, Hudson’s classmate had saved her. He knew that Gavyn and Valeria had invited them for dinner today to express their gratitude, but he never expected the person who saved Alice would be Olivia!

“Of course,” Mason replied, though his thoughts were elsewhere. Since Olivia was still in school, the news of her marriage to Alexander couldn’t be made public, so Mason pretended not to recognize her.

Olivia, understanding the situation, also pretended this was their first meeting. However, Alice’s next words only made the atmosphere more awkward.

“Right! I think so too, so Hudson marrying Olivia is totally fine!” Alice proudly puffed out her chest.

At that moment, Olivia wanted to die. Alice’s words were innocent, but by sheer coincidence, Mason turned out to be her uncle.

Saying such things in front of Liam’s butler, especially suggesting she should marry Hudson, could easily lead to misunderstandings. If Liam ever heard about it, Olivia couldn’t even imagine the fallout.

Mason was frozen in shock. He never imagined that the person trying to undermine Alexander would be his own nephew! Should I break Hudson’s leg first? Or wait for Liam to send someone to do it?

“Oh, how about we eat first?” Olivia noticed Mason’s face growing darker and, to prevent him from publicly reprimanding his family, she quickly spoke up.

Mason sat down with a cold expression. Gavyn and Valeria were puzzled by his displeasure.

“When did this start?” Mason looked at Hudson.

“What?” Hudson replied.

“When did your relationship with Ms. Carter begin?” Mason asked sternly.

Though Olivia and Alexander’s marriage was a secret, the entire Wilson family knew how much Olivia loved Alexander. So, it must be Hudson trying to hook up with Olivia!

“You spent so many years studying abroad, and all you learned were the corrupt things!”

Hudson was left completely bewildered by Mason’s scolding. When have I done anything corrupt?
