Chapter 11: Surprisingly Sweet

Everyone in the classroom was stunned. The anticipated scene where Olivia got thrown out didn’t happen. Instead, the boy sitting behind her was unexpectedly kicked out of his seat by Benjamin.

“What’s going on?”

“What’s Mr. Benjamin doing? He’s not angry?”

“Not only is he not angry, but he also gave up his seat without saying a word to Olivia.”

Benjamin’s uncharacteristic behavior left everyone shocked. Was this the same volatile Mr. Benjamin they knew? Where was the guy who’d throw people out and ruin them financially? Wasn’t Olivia supposed to be doomed? Even if he wasn’t going to beat her up, at least he should’ve said something instead of silently giving up his seat! Swallowing his pride like this was so out of character! No one could have predicted this outcome.

Instead of flying into a rage, Benjamin had simply let it go. Meanwhile, the boy who lost his seat felt wronged. But since it was Benjamin who took his seat, he didn’t dare say anything, even if he had been beaten up. All he could do was gather his things and sit quietly at the back of the classroom. What did he do to deserve this? He felt so wronged, he wanted to cry!

Olivia wasn’t particularly moved by Benjamin’s actions. After witnessing how the wealthy students at St. Rona Academy typically bullied others, seeing Benjamin’s submissive behavior made her think this guy might have a wild demeanor, but he was pretty kind-hearted! He was a good person! If the other students knew what Olivia was thinking, they’d probably cough up blood.

Kind-hearted? Benjamin? What a joke! He wasn’t kind when he beat someone until they vomited blood! He wasn’t submissive when he ruined someone’s family business!

The unexpected turn of events shocked the entire class. The girls who had already started recording whispered amongst themselves. What was the point of recording then?

Benjamin ignored the whispers around him. After sitting down, he immediately leaned over his desk to take a nap. Just as he closed his eyes, he felt something warm brush against his hand. Lazily opening his eyes, he saw the girl who had taken his seat placing a piece of chocolate in front of him.

Benjamin was speechless. Olivia simply said, “Seat rent.” She genuinely hadn’t known the seat was taken, and considering how kind-hearted this classmate was, she figured she shouldn’t freeload. The chocolate was something she’d taken from the Wilson family’s stash, intending to eat it herself.

Benjamin was even more baffled. Olivia didn’t say anything else and turned back to her desk. Everyone who witnessed this sucked in a breath. What was this? After taking Benjamin’s seat, was she now trying to flirt with him?

Benjamin wasn’t exactly known for being a gentleman. When Mia had confessed her feelings to him, he had coldly shot her down with, “You’re ugly,” leaving her completely shattered. At St. Rona Academy, countless girls had been rejected by Benjamin, so while they admired his looks, none dared to approach him. No one expected Olivia, of all people, to dare offer Benjamin chocolate!

“Mr. Benjamin, were you just going to take this? Hit her already!”

All the girls eagerly awaited Benjamin’s cold rejection, imagining him throwing the chocolate back in Olivia’s face. But Benjamin glanced at the chocolate, then suddenly reached out, unwrapped it, and popped a piece into his mouth. It was pretty sweet.
