Chapter 110: Soften the Face Before the Slap

Benjamin walked up to Olivia and snatched the phone from her hand. “Stop looking at it.”

Olivia remained composed throughout the accusations against her. After experiencing online harassment in her previous life, this was hardly a big deal.

Benjamin said, scowling, “The person who made this thread is clearly targeting you. I’ll get someone to figure out who it is.”

Lucas walked over as well. “The thread’s creator isn’t stupid. They even knew to stay anonymous.”

Benjamin said calmly, “The other day, I saw Alice looking for you. She was wearing the same outfit as the girl in the photo. I’ll help you clear things up.”

Olivia tilted her head, looking at the two of them. “Do you guys think whatever you do will work?”

Benjamin froze for a moment. “Why wouldn’t it work?”

Olivia pointed at Benjamin and Lucas. “You two are supposedly the idiots I’ve ‘seduced.’ Anything you say won’t be believed by the rest of the academy. They’ll think you’re under my spell.”

The thread creator was smart enough to know that Benjamin and Lucas were close to her, and they would inevitably come forward to her defense. So, they preemptively targeted Benjamin and Lucas as being seduced by her. No matter how much Benjamin and Lucas spoke up for her, the gossipy students would just assume they were deceived by her.

Benjamin and Lucas’ faces turned grim.

“Alice is Hudson’s sister, so he needs to handle this,” Benjamin said reluctantly, clearly unhappy about mentioning Hudson.

“But he doesn’t seem to be at school today,” Lucas said irritably.

Due to the kidnapping incident involving Alice, Hudson had been staying home to care for her and had rarely been to school recently, except for yesterday when he took Olivia out for a meal.

“Did Hudson start all this?” Lucas wondered.

Olivia shook her head. “Whoever made the thread is going after me.”

The thread creator clearly didn’t know the girl in the photo was Alice, or they wouldn’t have dared to post it so boldly. As for the middle-aged man accompanying her at the hotel, it was taken yesterday after her meal with the Sullivan family, when Asher volunteered to escort her out.

“The thread creator must’ve been nearby to take these two photos,” Olivia said, resting her chin on one hand while tapping the table with another. She thought of who could have been at both locations.

“Do you have a suspect in mind?” Benjamin asked.

Olivia smiled. “Of course.”

“Who is it?” Benjamin’s eyes were filled with killing intent.

She wasn’t afraid to play along with anyone who dared to play dirty with her to the end.

Lucas wished he could open Olivia’s head to see what she was thinking. “How will you handle it? Do you know what everyone’s saying about you? How can you still be so chill?”

Any other girl would have broken down in tears over such a huge slander. Why wasn’t she worried at all?

Olivia yawned. “I just wish to see what else they can come up with.”

Just like pigs needed to be fattened before slaughter, she had to wait for anyone’s face to soften before slapping them!

Lucas and Benjamin were speechless. Although Olivia claimed she could handle it, there was no way they would sit back and watch the situation escalate.

As soon as Sophia entered the classroom, she saw Benjamin, Lucas, and Isabella surrounding Olivia. A hint of malice appeared in her eyes, but she sat down as if nothing was amiss.

The girls in the class generally disapproved of Sophia’s attitude, but knowing she was close to Olivia, they couldn’t resist approaching her to ask about the slander surrounding Olivia.
