Chapter 129: I Want Her Off Immediately!
โDo as you please! Iโm done with you! Who do you think you are, anyway? Youโre just some no-name, bottom-tier actress! I have more followers than you! Handle it yourself!โ The makeup artist exploded in anger. After all, she wasnโt just anyone; she was a mildly famous beauty influencer. There was no way sheโd tolerate being insulted by someone like Olivia, a virtually unknown actress. She stormed off, determined to see how Olivia could possibly manage without her.
Watching the furious makeup artist leave, Olivia remained calm and composed. Amelia had planted plenty of nuisances around her, but Olivia intended to deal with them one by one. She glanced at the makeup laid out on the table, then stood and walked to the sink. Removing her glasses, she splashed water on her face to start fresh.
Inside the studio, the atmosphere was tense. All the crew members kept quiet, not daring to make a sound. Their eyes kept darting to Jos, who sat by the camera, his expression dark with frustration. Willow, her makeup flawless, stood off to the side, nervously glancing at Jos. She dared not approach him.
โWhatโs up with Mr. Jos? He looks furious,โ whispered one crew member.
โApparently, none of the scenes shot this morning met his standards. Heโs been yelling at everyone nonstop. Some supporting actors were even in tears. Chris hasnโt dared to show his face since,โ another replied. Chris Reynold, the second male lead, had also been chewed out earlier.
Upon hearing this, Willow immediately gave up the idea of trying to make small talk. She focused instead on staying invisible. Nobody wanted to risk provoking Jos further.
Thankfully, the next scene was Oliviaโs. The crew waited nervously.
โWhose scene is up next?โ Jos barked.
โItโs the new actress playing the third female lead, Olivia Carter. She played Jojo Reay in Sweetheart Forevermore, which aired recently,โ someone informed him.
โNo way,โ a crew member muttered. โThe actress who played Jojo? Seriously? Her acting was terrible, and her styling was so tacky. How did she even get on set?โ
โBeats me,โ another chimed in. โI heard she auditioned before but got rejected outright. No clue why sheโs here now.โ
โThis is going to be a disaster,โ another whispered. โCan Olivia even act?โ
The tension rose as everyone braced for the inevitable. Jos, sitting at the camera, glared at the morningโs footage, his mood growing darker with every passing second. The murmurs of the crew only added fuel to his fury. He had caught a glimpse of Sweetheart Forevermore. Jojoโs character had been ruined by some amateur with abysmal acting skills.
โWho brought Olivia on board?โ Jos demanded, his irritation spiking.
The assistant nervously replied, โAmelia recommended her.โ
Josโs face darkened even further. โI donโt care who recommended her. If sheโs useless, I want her off this set immediately.โ
The assistantโs anxiety skyrocketed as memories of Oliviaโs garish styling and lackluster performances surfaced. If Olivia showed up with another over-the-top smoky eye, Jos would be livid. This first scene was supposed to depict her character arriving in the big city from the countryside.
The crew held their breath as the door opened, and a slender figure gracefully stepped into view, moving toward the camera.
