Chapter 198: Are You Really Olivia?
โWith the state you were in last night, if Iโd wanted to do something, I wouldโve done it already,โ Olivia said, tugging at the corner of her lips in a faint smirk.
Alexander gazed at Olivia thoughtfully. Memories of the previous night gradually became clearer. His abdomen, still aching from the punch he had received, served as a sharp reminder. Bits and pieces of Oliviaโs recent changes pieced themselves together in his mind. In this moment, the girl before him felt both familiar and utterly foreign.
โAre you really Olivia?โ Alexander asked, his tone measured but curious.
Olivia frowned. โWould you like to go to the hospital? Your brain seems a bit off.โ
Alexander didnโt reply, instead continuing to scrutinize this familiar yet unrecognizable version of Olivia. His phone rang, cutting through the silence. Henryโs anxious voice came through the line. โMr. Wilson! Where are you right now?โ
โMeet me in the hotel lobby,โ Alexander said before ending the call abruptly.
Olivia lounged on the couch, not even sparing him a glance. โTake care, goodbye,โ she said coolly, making her dismissal crystal clear. Alexander gave her one last look before leaving the room.
Meanwhile, Jared, on his way to find Olivia, froze in his tracks when he spotted a tall figure emerging from her room. His mind went blank for a moment. What the heck? Why is a man coming out of Oliviaโs room? Unable to make out the manโs face from a distance, Jared hurried to Oliviaโs door and knocked.
Inside, Olivia was on a call, scolding Vance furiously. โYou said soon, but where are you? Driving a tractor over here?โ She had spent the entire night without catching a single glimpse of Vance.
โOlivia, listen, I swear I couldnโt get a ticket last nightโฆโ
โGet lost,โ Olivia snapped, cutting him off as the knock at the door caught her attention. She hung up and opened the door to find Jared standing there with a complicated expression.
โOlivia, we should probably get ready to head back,โ Jared said cautiously.
โGot it, Iโll pack up,โ Olivia replied casually.
Jared sneaked a glance at Olivia, then suspiciously scanned the room behind her.
โOliviaโฆโ he began hesitantly, โyou might want to be a little more careful when youโre outโฆ you know.โ
โWhat?โ Olivia blinked, confused.
โI mean, next time, keep things a bit more private. If the paparazzi caught anything, it could really affect your image,โ Jared mumbled, blushing slightly.
โWhat are you even talking about?โ Olivia asked, utterly baffled.
Jaredโs cheek turned redder. He stole another glance at her. โI saw it. I never expected a hotel like this to offer such special services.โ
Olivia froze. Damn it! Does this idiot seriously think Alexander is some gigolo I hired?
โDonโt worry, Olivia. Your secret is safe with me,โ Jared assured her solemnly.
Oh, so thatโs why she didnโt come down for dinner last night, Jared thought to himself, finally putting the pieces together.
Olivia felt a headache coming on. There was no way she could reveal Alexanderโs identity.
โYouโre so considerate,โ she replied, exasperated.
Meanwhile, Henry finally found Alexander in the hotel lobby. Henry had originally accompanied Alexander to negotiate a contract, never expecting their hosts to drug their drinks. Heโd passed out in the private lounge and, upon waking, discovered that Alexander was nowhere to be found.
โMr. Wilson, this was my oversight,โ Henry said as he drove, his expression full of guilt and worry.
Alexander sat silently in the back seat, his mind replaying scenes from the previous night, Olivia tending to him while cursing him under her breath.
โWhere do people usually check for updates on celebrities?โ Alexander asked suddenly.
Henry, sitting in the passenger seat, was taken aback. โMost of the time, theyโre on Twitter.โ
Strange. Why is Mr. Wilson suddenly showing interest in celebrities? Isnโt he usually dismissive of everything related to the entertainment industry?
