Even though Vance appeared calm on the surface, his thoughts were stampeding like a herd of wild mustangs. What the hell? What did I just hear? Olivia and Christian have some kind of past?
He had come today solely to unmask Olivia’s facade, but he hadn’t expected to overhear such a juicy, private conversation. While politely engaging with the others, Vance discreetly pulled out his phone and shot a message to Alexander, relaying everything that had just happened in detail.
“Alex, I think that punk Christian still has feelings for Olivia! I’m here at their wrap party right now. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to keep an eye on Olivia for you!”
He didn’t expect a reply anytime soon, so he quickly pocketed his phone. But in the very next moment, Alexander texted back, “Location.”
Vance froze. Wait a minute, isn’t Alex out of town today?
Confused, Vance’s gaze subtly shifted toward Olivia. As Olivia was mid-reach with her fork to pick up a piece of fruit, she caught Vance throwing her a sly wink.
Olivia mused, “Damn it. My cover’s blown for sure!”
Meanwhile, Christian seemed distracted. He hadn’t known Olivia had returned to the Carter family, let alone expected to run into her here. Looking at her face, even more stunning than he remembered, he felt a swirl of complicated emotions. He could clearly sense the change in Olivia’s attitude; she acted as though he didn’t exist.
“This celebration wouldn’t have been possible without all of you. I’d like to propose a toast to everyone here,” Vance said, standing up and raising his glass.
The enthusiastic gesture from Zenith Entertainment’s boss left Willow and the other actors flattered and thrilled. When it was Olivia’s turn, Vance paused in front of her.
“Ms. Olivia, your performance was outstanding. I truly admire your talent. Have you ever considered transferring to another company? Zenith Entertainment could really use someone as gifted and beautiful as you,” he said, openly praising her and boldly trying to poach her in front of everyone.
The room froze for a moment. Amelia’s expression turned particularly complicated. Zenith Entertainment was one of the top three powerhouses in the industry. Even a fraction of their influence could crush Olivia’s current company. Why would Vance take an interest in Olivia?

Olivia's career had taken off as though blessed by sheer luck. Amidst the envy and disbelief of everyone present, Olivia casually clinked glasses with Vance and replied, “Not interested.”
Her straightforward rejection left jaws hanging. Everyone thought, “She must be crazy! How dare she publicly turn down Mr. Vance? Does she not want to survive in this industry?”
But to everyone’s surprise, Vance didn’t seem the least bit offended. “Are you sure? You might want to reconsider. We offer amazing perks at our company,” he said with a smile.
The crowd was speechless. Did something happen to Mr. Vance? Why isn’t he mad? Olivia calmly sat back down, her actions making it clear that she had no intention of accepting. Looking genuinely disappointed, Vance returned to his seat.
“Thank you all for your support during this time. Allow me to offer a toast as well,” Amelia said, standing up, clearly displeased that Olivia had become the center of attention. But before she could raise her glass, Christian pulled her back into her seat. “You shouldn’t drink too much,” he said, then turned to the others.
“I’ve prepared some small gifts as a token of gratitude for everyone’s care for Amelia during this time,” Christian announced, clapping his hands. The doors to the private room opened, and Christian’s assistant entered, distributing exquisite gift boxes to everyone.
Willow opened her box, and the sight of a one-carat diamond inside nearly blinded her. A one-carat diamond for each person?
