Whitney, completely stunned, stared with tear-filled eyes at Olivia, who appeared before her like a divine warrior descending from the heavens. The next moment, the staff turned and ran, completely abandoning Whitney as their target!

“Hey, don’t run!” Olivia immediately stepped forward, grabbing the staff member by the collar.

“Mercy, goddess! Don’t rip my clothes off!” The staff member was close to crying.

Olivia was speechless. What does he mean, don’t rip his clothes off? Am I really that cruel?

“Don’t be so nervous, I’m just taking a magic tool,” she said kindly.

The staff member quickly pulled out a magic tool from their pocket and handed it to Olivia.

“Goodbye.” After handing over the item, they ran off like lightning.

Olivia, now holding the magic tool, slipped it into her pouch and turned around. “Thank…thank you…,” a small voice came from behind her.

Olivia turned to find Whitney, tear-streaked and red-eyed, looking at her. In one glance, Olivia noticed Whitney’s bulging pouch with the gold emblem on it.

“These ghosts are really scary, aren’t they?” Olivia crouched down, gazing at the pitiful and helpless Whitney.

Whitney nodded.

“What about Shawn?” Olivia asked.

“He scattered,” Whitney replied.

A smile flickered in Olivia’s eyes, but her face remained full of concern.

“Then you need to be careful. There are ghosts everywhere here, and now you have gold. If they catch you, not only will you be locked up, but your gold will be taken too.”

Whitney was startled by Olivia’s words.

“Then… What should I do? Olivia, please… help me…”

Olivia smiled gently. “Sure, sweetheart!”

Chapter 2: Go Get Her

If Shawn had been there, he would’ve recognized Olivia’s smile. I was far too familiar.

“I just bought some magic tools for self-defense. I was going to give them to Louis… how about this?” Olivia sighed dramatically, as if she were parting with something precious. “I can sell you two magic tools to help you defend yourself.”

She then pulled out two talismans. “This one is an invisibility talisman. It will keep you hidden from the ghosts for ten minutes. The other is a binding talisman. If a ghost chases you, you can use it to freeze them in place for five minutes.”

Whitney’s eyes lit up when she saw the items.

“Olivia, if you sell these to me, what will you do?” she asked.

Olivia rubbed Whitney’s small head. “I’ll be fine. I can’t let someone as cute as you get bullied.”

Whitney’s face flushed.

Olivia continued, “We’re meant to be, so I’ll give you a 40 percent discount. Two magic tools for twelve gold.”

Olivia had checked the store earlier, and each magic tool cost ten gold.

Whitney was shocked by Olivia’s generosity. She had never met anyone so kind.

“Well… thank you… but aren’t you losing out?” Whitney, having been to the store, knew that Olivia’s price was unbelievably low.

Olivia shrugged. “It’s nothing. I can’t stand seeing a beautiful lady cry.”

Whitney blushed even more, obediently handing over her gold. “You’re really a good person.”

Olivia mused. I think so too. Direct sales, no middlemen!
