Chapter 229: An Offering for the NPCs

Franklin was forced to watch NPCs charging toward him fiercely. They were greeted by the sight of Olivia nonchalantly standing under a large tree, calling out to them loudly. The NPCs were utterly confused.

“What happened to being trapped? Why’s she standing there perfectly fine?”

“This has to be her trap!”

Haunted by Olivia’s past treatment of them, the NPCs instinctively began to retreat. Seeing they were about to leave, Olivia immediately called out, “Glad you’re finally here. Don’t leave so quickly! I’m here to give you an offering.”

The NPCs rolled their eyes. Yeah, right…

“Even though you can’t take me away, you can go for him instead,” Olivia said, pointing at Franklin, who was dangling upside down from a tree.

Franklin wanted to flip her off so badly. She’s inhuman! Why does she want to help the NPCs? She might as well sell out the entire cast!

The NPCs were stunned. After being tormented by Olivia for two days, their minds were filled with thoughts of capturing her and mostly ignored the other participants. After all, the production team hadn’t instructed them to go all out against the rest. At most, they were meant to scare the participants a little. Otherwise, how could these contestants possibly outrun them? But… someone must explain how Franklin ended up hanging in a tree?

“I’ve prepared the offering for you, so we’ll be on our way now,” Olivia said, confidently pulling out two invisibility talismans and using them on herself and Alexander. They waved their sleeves and left without a trace, much to the NPCs’ bewilderment.

The NPCs looked up at Franklin, who was still dangling from the tree. Franklin made a mental note that he would be free from this mess! Go after Olivia.

Tobie watched helplessly as Franklin was left hanging by Olivia, as seen through one of the screens in the control room. Furthermore, Olivia presented him as an offering to the NPCs.

Tobie nearly spat out a mouthful of blood on the spot. “Who on earth allowed participants to attack each other? What’s Olivia’s deal? How did she manage to tie Franklin up? Whose side is she even on?”

He had wanted the three teams to battle it out, but he hadn’t expected them to be so vicious, to the point of using traps on one another! He suspected that if he provided them with more weapons right now, Olivia would slice everyone up in one go.

The assistant beside him cautiously chimed in, “Well… Mr. Tobie, you never said this wasn’t allowed, so technically speaking, Olivia… hasn’t broken any rules.”

Chapter 239: An Offering for the NPCs

Tible fumed and glared. “If Olivia pulls off anything like this again next episode, find a new director!”

For the next episode, he vowed to sabotage all of Olivia’s antics! Not a single one would slip through his watch.

Joycelyn was chatting about gossip with her “neighbor” Whitney while still caged up. Suddenly, they saw a group of NPCs carrying Franklin. The next second, Franklin was thrown into what used to be Olivia’s cage.

Joycelyn stopped talking immediately, while Whitney was absolutely shocked.

Whitney asked, “Franklin, how did you get caught? We just heard you got nearly 200 gold…”

Franklin’s face was ashen. “It’s all Olivia’s doing!”

Joycelyn and Whitney were completely baffled at how Olivia could do anything to him. At the same time, the production team announced that Franklin’s team’s gold and magic tool count had been reset to zero. Whatever he was carrying would be returned to the gold spots. Worse, he and Joycelyn wouldn’t be “released” for another hour. He had victory in the bag, but he never imagined he’d be thwarted by Olivia!

Franklin growled through clenched teeth, “When I get out, I’ll make sure to get my revenge on Olivia!”

The NPCs nearby laughed. They all knew how hard it was to get their revenge on Olivia. At least it’s nice of Franklin to dream big.
