Chapter 257: What If She Loses?

Corey put down the binoculars he was holding. “When she withdrew from school, she signed an agreement not to use the combat skills she learned there outside. I reckon she must have picked up some freestyle fighting after coming here…” Corey looked at Olivia on the sports field. “If she used what she learned here, wouldn’t it be lethal? The girl knows her limits, and besides, breaking the agreement would land her in military court.”

Hearing Corey’s words, Brogan suddenly understood. “The fighting techniques from Aeroville Military Academy aren’t meant for civilians, but what about the military boxing she used on the livestream… did that also violate the agreement?”

Corey shook his head. “As long as it’s not used in a hand-to-hand combat situation, it’s not a big deal. Military boxing isn’t unique to Aeroville Military Academy; showing it off is fine as long as it’s not used in a fight.”

“Father, are you saying that she is the one you’ve been looking for?”

Corey smiled slightly. “Could I possibly be mistaken about this girl? Travis and I fought hard to recruit her back in the day.”

Remembering the past, Corey felt quite proud.

Brogan frowned slightly when he heard this. “I’ve often heard you mention her before; if she was so exceptional, why did she suddenly withdraw?”

At this, Corey’s smile froze, and he smashed the binoculars he was holding. “She was bewitched! What’s so good about the entertainment industry? Such a promising talent, wasted like that?”

Thinking about how the talented young woman he had carefully cultivated had ended up in the corrupt entertainment industry made Corey extremely bitter. He wished he could rush down and bring Olivia back right then and there. Olivia had left school abruptly. Corey wasn’t on campus at the time; otherwise, he never would have agreed. By the time he returned, Olivia had already left. He didn’t even know where to begin to look for her.

“What are you planning to do now, Father?”

Corey thought for a moment. “Let her stay with you for a few days. I need to see if the girl has been slacking off.”

“You’re not going to see her?”

Corey huffed.

“See her? Believe me, if I show up within her sight, the girl is cunning. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have run eight hundred miles away in an instant! That withdrawal while I was away from the school.”

Brogan was speechless. Why did I detect a hint of pride in his voice?

“I heard one of the top students at your school got beaten up?” Corey said casually, yet his eyes and brows twinkled with amusement.

Brogan nodded.

Corey continued nonchalantly, “I always say, a student from Aeroville Military Academy could easily outmatch anyone here, let alone Olivia, who ranked first in her entrance scores.”

Brogan was speechless. No matter how good this girl was, she had still dropped out! You praise her, but why do you put down the students under my jurisdiction?

“Olivia might have high entrance scores and talent, but she still dropped out halfway.”

Corey was speechless. And when she fought Jackson, Jackson underestimated her. Brogan felt it was appropriate to defend Borealia Military Academy’s reputation a bit.

Corey scoffed, “Don’t be so skeptical; arrange a sparring match this afternoon. You can call anyone from the school.”

“What if she loses?”

Corey replied confidently, “Impossible! If she loses, you can dictate the terms!”

Brogan replied, “Alright, if Olivia loses, you will obediently go to the hospital and stay for a month for a thorough check-up!”

Unbeknownst to Olivia, they had set up a wager for her.
