Chapter 28: They Were Also Students of St. Rona Academy

A few days passed quickly, and it was soon time for St. Rona Academy's school festival. The campus bustled with activity as various clubs showcased their projects, filling the air with noise and excitement.

Olivia and Isabella arrived early at the backstage makeup room. Compared to the spacious and luxurious makeup rooms allocated to other students, theirs was originally a storage room, still cluttered with mops and buckets.

“Livi, I’m a bit nervous… Yesterday, Mr. Sebastian said he wanted to take me as his apprentice, and that he would be here to watch our performance today…” Isabella, sitting on a chair, was sweating nervously.

“Don’t be nervous. I’ll do your makeup first.” Olivia wasn’t surprised at all by Sebastian’s offer to take Isabella as an apprentice. In her previous life, Olivia had spent years at the Wilson family’s estate, isolated from the outside world. Although she hadn’t managed to capture Alexander’s heart, she had learned many miscellaneous skills.

Olivia pinched Isabella’s delicate face. “So tender.”

Isabella’s face flushed red at Olivia’s teasing.

“Livi, you’re acting like a rogue now.”

Olivia raised an eyebrow. “Acting like? I am one.”

Isabella was speechless. Livi had changed! Or perhaps it was her true nature showing?

As Olivia was doing Isabella’s makeup, a voice filled with disgust suddenly came from outside the makeup room.

“You’re also a student of St. Rona Academy?”

Outside the makeup room, Lily and her group had just passed by. They were stunned when they saw Olivia and Isabella inside. Recalling how Olivia had embarrassed her in public at Carlos Harmonies, Lily’s expression turned cold.

“How could the school allow people like you to participate in the performance?”

Olivia tilted her head slightly, and just as Lily was about to speak again, Olivia suddenly grabbed a nearby bottle of water and threw it at the half-open door! The loud bang startled Lily.

“What are you doing?”

Olivia crossed her arms and spoke calmly. “St. Rona Academy is so grand, yet it has flies buzzing around, making a racket.”

“Who are you calling a fly?” Lily reached out, intending to tear Olivia’s mouth apart. The two girls accompanying Lily hurriedly stopped her.

“Lil, why waste time arguing with these two trash? I heard Mr. Sebastian is also attending the performance today,” one girl said. “Mr. Sebastian is such a figure, coming specifically to watch your performance. Why waste time on people who aren’t worth it?”

Lily’s expression immediately softened upon hearing this. Lily is Sebastian’s apprentice? Olivia felt something was off. As far as she knew, in her previous life, aside from the intention to take Isabella as his apprentice, Sebastian only had one nominal apprentice. A suspicion arose in Olivia’s mind.

“Are you an apprentice of Sebastian? I bet it’s just nominal,” Olivia probed.

Upon hearing the term “nominal,” Lily’s face turned unpleasant, but she soon sneered. “Nominal? Even if it’s nominal, he’s still my teacher. He had never come when the academy invited him in previous years, but this year, he came just to watch me perform. What else could it be?”

Lily glanced at Olivia with contempt and said, “Such matters are beyond your understanding, commoners. Masters always start with nominal apprenticeships before officially taking on students.”

Olivia’s eyes narrowed slightly. The person who had destroyed Isabella’s hands in her previous life had been found!

“To watch your performance? I doubt that,” Olivia said slowly, touching Isabella’s little face.
