Amelia stared at her phone, the disconnected call still on her screen, then turned to Daisy in a panic. “How did these photos end up online?”
The pictures were from the early days of Amelia’s career, taken by paparazzi during social gatherings shortly after she signed with the company. Back then, Amelia and Christian’s engagement hadn’t been confirmed. Desperate to secure her footing in the entertainment industry, she had been seen mingling with influential figures at various events, drinking and socializing. The paparazzi had sent the photos to Daisy’s email, and the company had paid a hefty sum to buy the rights and bury the story. These efforts had helped Amelia maintain her image as a pure and innocent star.
Daisy looked just as shaken. “I… I don’t know!”
“You don’t know? Those original photos were supposed to be destroyed. The only copies were the ones sent to your email. Didn’t you say you deleted them ages ago?” Amelia glared at her.
Christian’s abrupt end to the call made it clear he had seen the photos. Amelia had worked tirelessly to preserve her pure image to secure Christian as her ideal husband. She wouldn’t even take roles that required overly intimate scenes. Now, looking at the pictures of herself clinking glasses with greasy, middle-aged men and even sitting on someone’s lap while drinking, Amelia was furious.
“I deleted them! I swear I did! Why would I keep something like that?” Daisy defended herself.
“Then what about Daniel’s chat logs?” Amelia demanded, her anger now turning into desperation. Back when she brought Olivia to sign with Daniel, she had let Daisy handle all the negotiations.
Now that Daniel’s claims about her involvement had resurfaced, combined with these chat logs, how could she possibly explain this? Daisy, as her agent, should have been protecting her, but now it felt like everything was unraveling.
Daisy was just as baffled. She had no idea how files she had long deleted had suddenly been leaked. A call from the company soon came, summoning Daisy back to the office. Amelia was left alone, sitting in her chair as the fallout of the leaked post spread like wildfire online. Her mind spiraled into chaos.
“Is this really Amelia? Oh my god! The so-called innocent star? She looks more like a socialite cozying up to these men,” one comment read. “Without powerful backers,” said another. “Isn’t she engaged to Mr. Christian from Donrale Group? With his family’s influence, why would she need to suck up to these men? Dude, these photos are clearly from her early career. Back then, she wasn’t engaged to Mr. Christian,” someone pointed out.
“Didn’t Amelia’s fans say Daniel was lying? Well, Amelia’s own agent negotiated Olivia’s contract with him. Let’s see how her fans explain this.” “This scandal’s too juicy!
