Chapter 436: Whoโ€™s Poking Around My Data?

A hooded teenager pulled out his laptop and set it on the desk, right in front of Walden. His fingers flew over the keyboard, inputting a long string of code. The code flowed seamlessly, intertwining like a digital river, silently forcing open doors to the online world. Walden stood with his hands clasped behind him, watching the screen closely.

Within moments, thanks to the teenagerโ€™s quick work, a file popped up on the display. The name โ€œOlivia Carterโ€ stood out at the top. Waldenโ€™s eyes flickered, and he immediately began examining the contents. The first page was filled with basic information. Aside from Oliviaโ€™s personal details and where she was registered, most of it was just her school history.

Daxton had given Walden a file on Olivia before, but it wasnโ€™t thorough. Walden wanted to know everything about her past. But as he kept reading, something felt off. โ€œBlumera?โ€ He frowned. The name rang a bell. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldnโ€™t recall where he had heard it before.

Sensing Waldenโ€™s confusion, the hooded teenager opened another tab and searched for Blumera. Nothing came up. It was as if the village had been erased from Cyperia entirely.

Meanwhile, Olivia had just finished her shower. Feeling refreshed, she threw herself onto her bed, ready to relax. Alexander was busy tonight and wouldnโ€™t be coming home. She planned to get a full nightโ€™s sleep without interruptionโ€”until her laptop suddenly blared with an alarm.

She opened it and was immediately met with the sight of a chibi Little Wendigo squatting on her screen, howling at her. As soon as the laptop powered on, Little Wendigo huffed and puffed before bouncing over to an icon and plopping down in front of it.

โ€œAwwooo!โ€

Despite looking ridiculously cute, this chibi Little Wendigo was actually the avatar of Oliviaโ€™s self-designed cybersecurity defense system. After being reborn, Olivia had put her tech skills to good useโ€”hunting down the corrupt and helping the innocent. Of course, she also had to keep her own system locked down, just in case any hackers or script kiddies tried to poke around.

So, the moment she bought her new laptop in this life, she programmed and installed her own customโ€ฆ

In her past life, a virus called โ€œGrim Reaper Knocking on Doorsโ€ had once crippled Cyperiaโ€™s networks, even taking down Alexanderโ€™s company. Olivia had created the Little Wendigo system as a powerful firewall for his business. Thoughโ€ฆ it definitely didnโ€™t look like this in her past life. The chibi version? That was just for fun.

Olivia raised an eyebrow as she spotted Little Wendigoโ€™s alert flashing on her screen. โ€œWhoโ€™s the nosy little thing sneaking around my files this late at night?โ€ She chuckled.

Because of her time at Aeroville Military Academy, her records were split into two versionsโ€”one was a basic public file, while the other was a classified dossier tied to the academy, locked away in Cyperiaโ€™s high-security database. When she set up her Little Wendigo defense system, she made sure to add an extra layer of protection to her classified records. If anyone tried to break in, sheโ€™d know about it immediately.

Watching Little Wendigo howl on the screen, Olivia unwrapped a milk candy, popped it into her mouth, and leaned in. โ€œCome on, sweetheart, donโ€™t let me catch youโ€ฆโ€ Did they really think her files were just sitting there for the taking? How naive.
