Chapter 47: Bullying Through Power
After breakfast, Olivia ignored Vanceโs smug attempts to claim credit and drove straight back to school. She didnโt throttle him on the spot, purely out of respect for Liam. On the way, she called her grandmother in the countryside. Since her rebirth, Olivia had made it a point to call her grandmother every day. In her past life, she had neglected her for the sake of loveโthis time, she wouldnโt make the same mistake.
Yesterday, Oliviaโs stunning performance at the academyโs showcase had made her the talk of the campus overnight. The moment she arrived at class, she was summoned to Mr. Graysonโs office. Inside, she found Mr. Grayson, Emma, Mia, and a middle-aged woman dressed in luxurious clothing with immaculate makeup, likely in her early forties.
โThere she is, Olivia,โ Emma said with a smirk, her eyes flashing with schadenfreude as Olivia entered. The elegantly dressed woman scrutinized Olivia from head to toe, her brows furrowing at Oliviaโs modest appearance.
โMrs. Davis, you specifically requested to meet Olivia today. May I ask what this is about?โ Mr. Grayson asked, puzzled. Miaโs father was an honorary board member of St. Rona Academy, and now her mother had come in person, demanding to see Olivia. Mr. Grayson had a bad feeling about this.
Mrs. Davis ignored Mr. Grayson, her sharp gaze fixed on Olivia. Her delicate brows arched in disapproval.
โAre you the one who dumped garbage on my daughter?โ she asked coldly.
Mr. Grayson froze.
โGarbage? This must be a misunderstanding,โ he said cautiously.
โMisunderstanding?โ Mrs. Davis scoffed, her tone haughty. โA few days ago, this Olivia poured a whole bucket of garbage on my daughter. Clearly, your school has some issues if itโs producing students like her.โ
โOlivia, did you really dump garbage on Mia?โ Mr. Grayson asked incredulously, glancing at Olivia. She didnโt seem like the type to do such a thing.
Olivia had nearly forgotten about the incident, but it seemed Mia had finally brought reinforcements.
โDid I?โ Olivia said, her tone casual. โI only remember accidentally spilling garbage while throwing it away.โ
โThatโs a lie! You did it on purpose!โ Mia exclaimed, unable to believe how blatantly Olivia could twist the truth. If her parents hadnโt been abroad until yesterday, sheโd have made sure Olivia was expelled long ago.
Olivia shot Mia a calm look. โWhy would I deliberately pour garbage on you? Unlessโฆ youโre saying youโre a trash heap?โ
Mia nearly exploded. Did she just call me a trash heap?
โYou were deliberate! You were mad because I dumped garbage on your desk, so you took revenge on me!โ Mia blurted out, unwittingly revealing the truth.
Olivia raised an eyebrow. Realizing what sheโd said, Mia quickly covered her mouth.
Mr. Grayson sighed as the situation became clear. It seemed Mia had bullied Olivia repeatedly, but this time Olivia had finally fought back, and Mia couldnโt handle it.
โAhemโฆ If thatโs the case, I think we should let this go,โ Mr. Grayson said, trying to de-escalate. This was clearly Miaโs fault, and now sheโd even brought her mother to accuse Olivia unfairly.
โLet it go?โ Mrs. Davis sneered, completely ignoring her daughterโs slip-up. โMy daughter has endured such humiliation, and you expect me to let it go? My daughter has never suffered like this in her life. Olivia must be punished!โ
Mrs. Davisโs tone was firm, leaving Mr. Grayson in a bind. By all logic, Mia was the one in the wrong. Yet Mrs. Davis refused to drop the matter, insisting on punishing Olivia, who had been the victim of bullying.
โOlivia, apologize to Mia,โ Mr. Grayson said reluctantly, bowing to the Davis familyโs influence.
