Chapter 6: Trash Belonged with Trash
Olivia stood before her desk, staring at the pile of garbage; the scene resonated with memories from her past life. Trash-strewn desks, running errands during breaks, and blatant mockeryโthese were almost all of Oliviaโs experiences at St. Rona Academy. The wealthy students made it their pastime to entertain themselves by trampling on the dignity of students from less privileged backgrounds.
In her previous life, Olivia had only been transferred to St. Rona Academy after her engagement to Alexander. She had been a people-pleaser, silently enduring the bullying from the academy.
โLiviโฆ I wanted to help you clean up, but theyโฆ wouldnโt let me,โ Isabella, who had been hiding in a corner, hurried to Oliviaโs side. She was a special admissions student and had been the target of bullying before Oliviaโs arrival.
Olivia glanced at the girl, who was a bit shorter than herself. This girl, Isabella, was Oliviaโs only friend at St. Rona Academy. Seeing her rare ally from her past life, Olivia instinctively patted Isabellaโs head before turning her gaze sharply through her glasses, surveying everyone in the classroom.
โWho did this?โ
The students of the performance department didnโt take Oliviaโs question seriously. Mia, propped up on her elbow with an air of superiority, looked at Olivia disdainfully.
โTrash should be with trash. You were in charge of the cleanliness. Since you werenโt here this morning, naturally, the trash ended up on your desk.โ
Miaโs gaze was as contemptuous as if she were looking at a repulsive rat.
โYou did this?โ Olivia asked, looking at Miaโs haughty attitude, not surprised at all.
In her previous life, Mia had also led the bullying against Olivia. Mia, oblivious to Oliviaโs change, waved her hand dismissively and said, โYou donโt need to thank me. Now get it cleaned up quickly. It really stinks.โ
โYeah! Why are you still standing there? Do you like the smell? We canโt stand it.โ
โOlivia, are you fond of the trash? Just take it with you if you like it so much.โ
The group of girls laughed cruelly, and Isabellaโs face grew increasingly distressed. She wanted to help Olivia clean the desk but was stopped by Oliviaโs firm gesture.
โIโll handle it.โ
Olivia efficiently emptied the trash back into the bin.
โSee, if you had listened sooner, it would have been fine,โ Mia said, knowing Olivia wouldnโt dare to retaliate. She turned away smugly, satisfied with Oliviaโs obedient response.
As Mia and her friends continued their conversation, engrossed in their world, a gasp of shock broke through their chatter. Before Mia could comprehend what was happening, a pile of trash was suddenly poured over her head. Banana peels and other foul-smelling waste rained down, instantly covering Miaโs once-smooth hair and expensive designer clothes in a mess. Everyone was stunned into silence, with those sitting opposite Mia unable to believe their eyes as Mia was showered in garbage.
Olivia, holding the now-empty trash can above Miaโs head, looked down at the covered Mia with a smile.
โExactly. Trash belongs with trash.โ
